Hans-Helmut Schnelle (born May 28, 1913 in Magdeburg ; † May 16, 1974 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German surgeon and orthopedist.

Life

Schnell attended high school in Magdeburg. After graduating from high school, he began to study medicine at the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg in 1931 . In 1932 he was in the Corps Normannia Hall recipiert . When he was inactive , he moved to the Philipps University of Marburg and the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg . In 1937 he passed the state examination in Halle. From 1938 to 1940 he was a trainee and assistant doctor at the Pathological Institute of the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg . From 1940 he served in reserve hospitals of the Wehrmacht , most recently as a medical officer in the reserve. At the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin he was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. In 1945 he headed the hospital in Kühlungsborn . In the six years until 1951 he completed his surgical training at the Rostock University Clinic . He headed the aftercare department, the accident department and the physiotherapy school and dedicated himself to the surgical treatment of war invalids . After four years as a senior physician , he qualified as a professor in 1954. He switched to the Orthopedic University Clinic Rostock as a lecturer . In 1956 he went to the University of Halle as a professor with a teaching position for orthopedics . In 1959 she appointed him to her chair for orthopedics. Schnell retired in 1965 .
