Balance is an album by the German rock group Karat from 1997.

content

Balance is a rather calm, restrained album, which stands out due to the overwhelming number of romantic titles (like No matter , Maybe , What if , Silent Screams , The Other Shore or No Man's Land ). With titles like No Word , Unreachable Deep or Only for Money , bluesy sounds are also represented on the album, or with Let 's like ... , Notlandung and It remains rocky sounds. In the center of the soundly very closed album are mostly strings, acoustic or slightly distorted guitars and a subtle percussion using many percussion instruments , whereby Dreilich's voice comes into its own as the main tone color . Balance closes with the instrumental crystal , which finally reflects the mood of the entire work. With the song The Ocean , Karat achieved another major success, which became a kind of comeback hit for Herbert Dreilich after Herbert Dreilich's stroke .

The Babelsberg film orchestra played on the album .

The tracks Maybe (radio edit) with Maybe (album edit) in 1997 and an alternative version of The Ocean with Signs of Life and No Man's Land in 1998 were released as singles.
