Labyrinth is a studio album by the German rock group Karat from 2018.

content

Labyrinth was released on October 19, 2018 on Electrola , a Universal label . With a running time of 59 minutes, it is the band's longest studio album to date.

In addition to new songs, there are also already published songs on the album. The title 1 with you with Jeanette Biedermann can already be found on the first album of her band Ewig from 2012 (there as a duet with her husband Jörg Weißelberg ). The song 1000 Karat was released in 2017 on the album Rock Legenden Vol. 2 .

The wind blows forever was written together with Gregor Meyle , with whom the band had already worked on the previous album Seelenschiffe . This title and the instrumental Everything flows are also the first compositions by Bernd Römers (who has been with the band since 1976) for Karat. The titles Flowers from Ice , Thunderstorms and Magical Light are acoustic versions of older Karat classics.

As with the predecessor Seelenschiffe , Karat worked with younger musicians from the German pop scene for this album, which means that the album is musically close to the mainstream. Numerous musicians were involved in the production and recorded large parts of the music: Constantin Krieg (keyboard, programming), Marcus Gorstein (keyboard), Ingo Politz (programming, drums), Jörg Weißelberg (guitar, keyboard, programming), Lucas Schaaf ( Guitar, keyboard, programming, bass), Simon Kempner (guitar) and Devi-Ananda Dahm (backing vocals).

Since the album was produced during a long illness of the drummer Michael Schwandt , Ronny Dehn (among others Silly ) played the drums on the album on behalf of Schwandt.

Hope was released as the first single on September 21, 2018 . Title 1 followed on September 28th with you . It was also the first time that pre-singles from a Karat album were released as a download.
