Jörg Weißelberg (also: Weisselberg) (born April 22, 1968 in Löbau ) is a German guitarist , songwriter and music producer .

biography

Jörg Weißelberg came to music very early. Initially he took guitar lessons for a few years, but then developed his musical skills mainly as an autodidact. His musical career brought him to work as a professional musician in the GDR at an early age . So he started various projects and began to play in various, then well-known bands. After the fall of the wall he founded the band " The Backyards " ("She's on the Run" - WEA ), where he tried his hand at songwriting for the first time and also acted as a singer. His first experiences in the studio, which strongly influenced him, came from Edo Zanki . That moved him to develop himself further as a studio musician.

Since 2001 Weißelberg has been guitarist and musical director of Jeanette Biedermann's band , with whom he toured across Europe. In addition, he works for her as a composer and producer and together with her founded the band "Ewig". The professional collaboration also resulted in a private relationship and in summer 2012 he married the singer.

Live and in the studio he accompanies Remo , Bell, Book & Candle , Peter Schilling and many other artists.

Together with his childhood friend Steffen Langenfeld, he ran the "Backyard Music Studio" at the same time. During this time he got to know the band Silbermond and worked with them in the studio for two years. He wrote songs for and with them, which can later be heard on the successful 2004 debut album “Waste Your Time” (900,000 sold). He also worked for other artists as a songwriter and producer, e. E.g. for Jeanette Biedermann (album "Naked Truth" - Universal ) or Selina (album "Girls always come ... (to the destination)" - EMI ).

In 2008 he founded the " Acoustic Lounge " project together with musical friends . There he dedicates himself to the acoustic interpretation of current chart songs. Some of the versions could be heard in 2009 in the Sat.1 -Telenovela Anna und die Liebe .

Weißelberg has been part of the producer team at Mitte-Studios Berlin since 2010, based in the buildings of the Hansa-Tonstudios , where he has since preferred to work in his own studio space. From the beginning of 2011 to March 2012 he was guitarist for Thomas Godoj . At the beginning of 2012 the band Ewig was founded by Jeanette Biedermann , Christian Bömkes and himself. Their first single One Step Further was released on August 31, 2012, followed by the debut album Wir sind Ewig on September 14, 2012.

Weißelberg lives and works in Berlin. He married the singer Jeanette Biedermann on July 7, 2012 in his hometown of Löbau .

Filmography

The work for Radio Bremen - Tatort " Smoldering " led Weißelberg to the area of film music . Other musical works for TV and cinema were the theme songs for the films " Freche Mädchen " and " Freche Mädchen 2 " ( Constantin Film - 1.5 million visitors), which he wrote together with Jeanette Biedermann . Equipment

Jörg Weißelberg usually uses a Suhr stereo amp system with many effect pedals for his live set. A wide variety of vintage amplifiers are used in the studio. Weißelberg likes to use electric guitars from the German brands Duesenberg , Gibson and Sigma acoustic guitars.
