Remo , actually Raymund Philipp Hopf (born July 15, 1960 in Berlin ) is a German musician.

Life

At the age of six Remo moved with his mother to Braunschweig , where he grew up and made his first attempts at band at the age of 15. In 1984 he moved back to Berlin. During his long musical break he studied business administration and business law . Remo is married and has a biological daughter as well as a stepdaughter and a stepson.

Musical success

Remo left his first musical traces in 1983 with his single Wir sind jung , published by Teldec and produced by Hanno Bruhn . Back in Berlin, he met his future companion Norbert Endlich (Duo H + N), with whom he produced the album Verknallt for Polydor . His first music video was shot in Munich for the first single, Verknallt in dich . It was directed by the now well-known director Marcus O. Rosenmüller . Other singles were Café (1989) and Irgendwann (1990).

In 1990 Remo retired from the music business and then, exactly 20 years later, in 2010, he started producing the first songs for his 2012 album Einfach so . At this time he also met his current friend and guitarist Jörg Weisselberg , who has been an integral part of Remo's band ever since. The album was produced by Frank Kretschmer and Tommy Remm in Valicon 3 Studios in Berlin, mixed and mastered by Vincent Sorg (among others, producer of Toten Hosen ) in Prinzipal Studios in Senden. US musician James Dooley , who works as a film music composer in Santa Monica, added the string arrangements to Love can be so strong , All you want and My child . Singles from this album were Never again love , just like that and everything you want .

The chart success of the album Einfach So was followed two years later, in July 2014, by the album Himmel im Kopf , which also entered the German album charts immediately. It was recorded, produced and mixed again by Frank Kretschmer and Tommy Remm, in collaboration with René Schostak in the Valicon 3 studios, mastered by Andreas Balaskas in the Masterlab mastering studios in Berlin. The pre-single Mein Herz was released in April 2014. The title song Himmel im Kopf was also released with the album in July 2014 .

Heaven in the head; Remo - the film

In addition to the album Himmel im Kopf , Remo and music video director Dominik Balkow produced a 90-minute film about all 14 tracks on the album. 14 independent music videos were shot, which were embedded in a romantic framework. In addition to Remo himself u. a. Actress Anne Lohs , actor Paul Schlase and dancer Olivia Rehmer .
