Bahnhof / Bleiche is a district of the city of Schaffhausen in the canton of the same name . The district has the postcode 8200.

The Bahnhof / Bleiche -Quartier is in the center of the city of Schaffhausen , in the immediate vicinity, around and next to the train station . The quarter is one of the most diverse in Schaffhausen. Not only the central location, but also the mix between modern urbanity and traditional old buildings is particularly special. The northern and eastern borders of the quarter are formed by the eagle underpass, along Bahnhofstrasse to the Obertor roundabout. In the south-west the border goes along Beckengässchen to the vocational training center and encloses the Urbahn and Diana superstructures. The Bahnhof / Bleiche -Quartier borders on the following city quarters: Old Town / Rhine , Breite / Stadion, Hochstrasse Geissberg.

The Bleiche district is to the west of the Schaffhausen train station and, together with the train station, forms the Bahnhof / Bleiche urban district . The neighborhood is particularly versatile, as the opposites couldn't be more different. To the east of the quarter, the train station is the canton's largest public transport slice. Various companies and companies have settled to the west of the station. The vocational training center of the canton of Schaffhausen (BBZ) is also located in the quarter. In addition to residential houses and shops, the Urbahn development, with the Arcona Living hotel chain, has been on Bleicheplatz since October 2014 . In the Bahnhof / Bleiche -Quartier, education, culture, business, transport and living space are located in a very small space.

Culture, economy

For two years, the largest construction site in the canton was on Bleicheplatz . The Urbahn development was created with a 4-star hotel, 47 apartments, business and commercial space and a parking garage with a capacity of 484 spaces. The opening of the development took place in October 2014. The Diana development, which houses a car dealership, restaurants and office space, is also important for the quarter. In 2008, just behind the train station, the New Country House opened , in which Unilever Business and Marketing Support AG has settled.

The traffic in the quarter plays an important role thanks to the Schaffhausen train station . It is the largest public transport slice in the canton. The urban and regional bus lines of the transport company Schaffhausen vbsh also run via Schaffhausen station. According to the entry in the land register, 65 percent of the station is owned by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and 35 percent by Deutsche Bahn (DB). Thus it serves as a border station between Switzerland and Germany . It is approached by long-distance traffic and regional trains. In addition, several S-Bahn lines of the S-Bahn Schaffhausen, Zurich and St. Gallen run to the station. There are short public parking spaces behind the Neues Landhaus , and the 484 parking spaces in the Urbahn development are also of great importance.
