Tobias Regner
Tobias Regner (born August 5, 1982 in Teisendorf ) is a German rock singer . He became known as the winner of the third season of the talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar , which was broadcast from November 2005 to March 2006 by the television station RTL .
Life
As a teenager he received five years of classical piano lessons and one year of jazz piano lessons at the local music school. He made his first appearances as a musician in the mid-1990s as a member of the new metal band Black Jack’s . He later played with Six-Up and won a talent competition with the band in Bad Reichenhall in 2000 . In 2001 he joined the band Sacarium as a front man, which his brother founded in the same year. The Metallica Tribute Band has held regular concerts since 2001 .
After graduating from high school, Regner began studying communication science at the University of Salzburg. Immediately after graduating in July 2005, he applied as a candidate for the casting for the RTL show Deutschland sucht den Superstar and prevailed against 14,000 other participants.
His debut single I Still Burn rose to number one in the single charts in Germany , Switzerland and Austria . In Germany, the title was the best-selling single in two years after the first week. The album Straight also made it to the top of the German album charts and quickly achieved gold status. Tobias Regner celebrated the high point of his success with two nominations for the Echo 2007 in the categories of best national rock / pop artist and best newcomer .
From June 2010 to June 2011 Regner presented the weekly hard rock show BOBs Harte Saite on the Hessian radio station RADIO BOB! .
In spring 2010 Regner released a new album called Kurz immortlich with a new band and recently only under his last name , this time with German songs. With another album, Akustisch , which was released in 2011, Regner went on a concert tour in 2012.
Since his album Besser Jetzt , which was released in July 2013 and was produced by Tobias Röger , Tobias Regner has been performing under his full name again. His band includes Ben Mörtl (bass), Rupert Hagenauer (guitar) and Regner's brother Michael ("Michi") Regner (* 1986) on drums.
Regner is a lecturer for guitar courses at two Bavarian adult education centers . In 2014 he was on stage at DomplatzOpenAir in Magdeburg as "Eddie" in the musical The Rocky Horror Show .
