Severino Seeger (born November 28, 1986 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German pop singer . He was the winner of the 12th season of the RTL - casting show Germany Idol (DSDS) known and used as a stage name his first name Severino .

Life

Severino's mother is a German Sintiza , his father was Italian ; he died when his son was 15 years old.

Severino broke off training as a hairdresser. He then worked as a warehouse clerk and later as an employee of a call center. He performed with a Blues Brothers band as a singer at festivals. He has been playing his own compositions with his band Sev'n Beat since 2014.

Severino has lived in Büdingen since 2017 .

He married in 2014 and has a legitimate daughter (* 2014) and another daughter from a previous relationship. He and his wife separated in November 2018.

In June 2015, he was sentenced to one year and nine months probation after a confession of commercial and gang fraud . The judges ordered him to make amends for the damage he had caused in the amount of 25,000 euros.

Career

In 2015 Severino took part in the twelfth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar . He won the final against Viviana Grisafi with 59% of the calls. With the exception of the first, he received the most viewer calls on all of the following event shows. For his victory at DSDS he received 500,000 euros and a record deal with Universal Music . His winning song Hero of My Heart , produced by Dieter Bohlen , was made available for download on the same evening and reached number 10 in the German charts. This was the worst chart placement of a DSDS winning song until then. The second single Love Me Like This was released the following week . Although he presented the song on Let's Dance , the record missed the chart entry.

After being convicted of commercial and gang fraud , RTL ended its collaboration with Seeger. In July 2015, nine out of ten concerts on his Unchained tour in Germany were canceled. Only the concert in Mannheim took place on October 18th as planned.

social commitment

Severino has been involved in the non-profit association Subsidium eV since November 2016. The association takes care of the reintegration of people who have committed criminal offenses.
