Marie Wegener (born July 6, 2001 in Duisburg ) is a German singer . In 2018 she won the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar .

Life

Wegener lives with her parents and her twin brother in Duisburg . In 2013 she took part in the first season of The Voice Kids and was eliminated in the Battle Round against the eventual winner Michèle Bircher.

In May 2018 she won the 15th season of the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar with 64% of the audience votes . As the youngest winner to date, the then 16-year-old received a record deal and 100,000 euros. Your winning song Königlich was written by Dieter Bohlen . Her first album Königlich was released in June 2018, and the album entered the German charts at number 7.

In June 2018 and January 2019 she received a smago! Award as the youngest winner in American Idol of all time and for the hit single of the year 2018. 2019 made her the stone beard-Gymnasium in Duisburg High School . In June and July 2019 she accompanied Andreas Gabalier as a support act on his stadium tour through Germany.

Her second album Countdown was released in September 2019 , which entered the German charts at number 20. From December 2019 to the beginning of February 2020 she was in the musical Die Schöne und das Best, written by Martin Doepke, in the leading role of Bella on a tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
