MC Bilal (* 24 July 1994 as Bilal Khodr in Gladbeck ) is a German rapper .

Career

Bilal Khodr grew up as a child of immigrants from Lebanon in the Ruhr area . He started rapping at the age of eleven and tried his hand at gangster rap . He turned away from this and switched to moral, sometimes religiously motivated texts. In the beginning he mainly performed in the pedestrian zone of his hometown.

MC Bilal first drew attention to itself in 2010 after publications on the Internet that were also discussed in the Internet media. Sad but True , one of his most watched videos , also dates from this time . In the following years, however, he made a name for himself primarily on Facebook . The number of his followers rose to half a million. His regularly published videos sometimes have seven-digit access numbers. His hallmarks are his formal welcome to the start of his videos and recordings showing him in a luxury car that he bought after releasing his album Alles in his time .

In autumn 2016 he was signed by the major label Universal . In November, the first official video was released with Augen . There were over half a million views on YouTube, as did Teufel , published at the beginning of 2017 , where Beatzarre , Djorkaeff and B-Case are named as producers. On January 27, his debut album Alles zu his Zeit was released , in which the pop singer Akay Kayed is involved in a song as a guest musician. The album reached the top 10 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
