Tulsa Symphony

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tulsa Symphony is a professional symphony orchestra in Tulsa , Oklahoma , which is managed independently and independently by the members of the ensemble. Founded in 2005 by musicians of the Tulsa Philharmonic , which was dissolved in 2002 due to financial problems , it is considered its successor. It also acts as the house orchestra of the LOOK Musical Theater .

The Tulsa Symphony Orchestra (TSO) probably follows from the experiences of the Tulsa Philharmonic, which was dissolved in 2002, a concept in management and leadership that cannot be compared with most other orchestras. The members of the ensemble, divided into 12 committees, decide the artistic goals, their repertoire and the direction of the orchestra on their own responsibility according to the statutes of the American Federation of Musicians. It is not directed by any chief conductor or music director and the guest conductors are obliged to take responsibility for it.
