This list contains all number-one hits in Germany in 2006. There were 20 number-one singles and 29 number-one albums that year.

The single and album charts are compiled weekly by Media Control . They take into account both online download purchases and sales of physical sound carriers ( CDs ). The evaluation period is always Friday to Thursday of the following week. On the following Tuesday, the charts are first announced for the music industry, with the official publication on the following Friday.
