Mike Leon Grosch
Mike Leon Grosch (* 2. November 1976 in Wuppertal ) is a German pop - singer and radio host .
Grosch became known as the finalist of the third season of the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS). The TV station RTL broadcast these from November 2005 to March 2006. Grosch took second place in this competition behind Tobias Regner .
life and career
Grosch grew up in Wuppertal - Elberfeld with his mother Sung-Yoon ( 성윤 ) Grosch, a nurse from Korea . In 1997 he made the Gymnasium Bayreuther Straße his high school . Grosch has lived in Cologne since he was 19 . Before participating in DSDS, he worked as a sales representative at E-Plus . He was also under contract with the cell phone provider Base as a testimonial and promoted this company. During the DSDS competition, Grosch caused a sensation through a love affair with his competitor Vanessa Jean Dedmon , who was eliminated in the semifinals. The couple split three months after the final show from Deutschland sucht den Superstar . He then released two singles and an album. In November 2006, Sony BMG canceled its record deal. Filmed in 2006, Tatort: Smoldering was broadcast in January 2007 , in which Mike Leon Grosch plays a supporting role alongside Jeanette Biedermann . For the model contest Die Eine 2008 , Mike Leon Grosch released the song YEAH !, which was free to download from the official website.
From 2009 to 2010 Mike Leon Grosch completed an internship at the Aachen radio station Antenne AC . After living on his savings for three years, Grosch made his way through life as a bottle collector in 2010 . From April 2011 to December 2011 he worked as a presenter for the radio station ffn . In 2012 he found a job with a textile company. In 2014 Grosch became the father of a daughter who came from the relationship with his then partner. He has been in a new relationship since 2018.
In 2016, Grosch suffered two heart attacks . In 2019 he took part as a candidate in Das Supertalent . Grosch then released the single Wunderschön in January 2020 .
Musical background and Germany is looking for the superstar
Grosch gained musical experience in small gigs with a hobby band from Ratingen , as well as in a few karaoke gigs and as a singing accompanist at weddings.
Grosch took part in the third season of the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar and took second place in the final behind Tobias Regner with 45.4 to 54.6 percent of the audience votes .
