The song is 4:20 minutes long and was released as the first single from the album Can't Slow Down . On the B-side is the Wandering Stranger piece .
Richie played the song at the closing ceremony of the 1984 Summer Olympics in front of a television audience of approximately 2.3 billion people and at the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo , Norway .
In the episode the Heat in Florida from Miami Vice could hear the song as a cover, the music video took Michael Nesmith directed and produced.

In 2011 Richie released a new version of the song together with the Australian pop singer Guy Sebastian . It was produced by RedOne . The single reached number 26 in Australia and number 12 in New Zealand. Proceeds went to victims of the February 2011 Christchurch earthquake .
