Schrei is the debut album by the German band Tokio Hotel .
history
In the summer of 2005, the band first appeared on the cover of Bravo , almost every week from then on. On August 15, 2005, the debut single of the album produced by Dave Roth , David Jost , Peter Hoffmann and Pat Benzer , Durch den Monsun , was released. The single became a worldwide success, also in English as Through the Monsoon . This boosted sales of the debut album released in September.
Success and criticism
The album reached number 1 in Germany and Austria and number 3 in Switzerland . It achieved gold three times in Germany and double platinum in Austria. At least 1.5 million copies of the album were sold by 2007.
Elke Buhr wrote in the Frankfurter Rundschau (English translation): “Straightforward pop-rock with catchy melodies and a well-calculated mix of stolen Metallica riffs and romantic ballad elements. Everything is played on the safe side, and the production is technically perfect. "
