The canton school Wil is a middle school in the canton of St. Gallen and is located in Wil SG . Currently about 500 students attend the middle school, which opened in 2002. Because of its location on the edge of the canton, the school is also supported by the canton of Thurgau . In 2015, the Wil canton school received the School Prize of the Science Olympiad .

After the school had been temporarily housed for two years , the new building was opened in summer 2004. The building is a wooden structure that consists of four wings that are arranged around the inner courtyard. It is one of the largest wooden buildings in Switzerland.
The heating energy is ensured by a wood chip / gas heater. The photovoltaic system , built in 2012, is operated by the technical operations in Wil . The electricity generated is fed into the regional power grid.
