It is as it is is a 2006 music album by the group Pur .

Creation and publication

After the album What happened? and a subsequent tour of Germany, the band members of Pur had initially gone their own way. Hartmut Engler, for example, released his first solo album Just a Singer in 2005 and completed a solo tour. The first album after the band break was 2006 Es ist wie es ist .

On March 31, 2006, Pur released SOS, the first single from their new album. SOS was created as a benefit single for the SOS Children's Villages and supported the SOS Children's Villages charity campaign for the 2006 soccer World Cup , 6 villages for 2006 . Pur traveled to Nigeria in connection with one of the six children's villages to be built. SOS was able to place itself at number 20 in the German single charts. The single Because you are with me, coupled on August 4, 2006, reached number 13 in the charts. The song Rolf rockt contained on the album was created in memory of the guitarist Rolf Lichtblau , who belonged to the group Pur from 1976 to 1981, then still called Crusade or Opus, and who died in 2003. A guitar solo Lichtblaus can be heard in the song.

Es ist wie es ist was released on September 1st, 2006 and went straight to number 1 in the German album charts. The CD cover shows Pur in the Scottish Highlands, among other places .

After a club tour with five concerts in Ludwigsburg, Munich, Cologne, Berlin and Hamburg at the beginning of September 2006, for which tickets were only raffled off, a tour of Germany followed in November 2006 as well as an appearance in Basel . The tour started on November 9th in the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle (Westphalia) . At their appearance in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle in Stuttgart , Pur set a new hall record with 14,600 visitors. On December 14, 2006, the DVD for the tour, Es ist wie es ist: Die Live-DVD, was released .

It's like it's “the first record on which musicians have lost their fear of loud guitars. As a result, some of the pieces are rockier than usual, ”wrote the Thüringische Landeszeitung . The Stuttgarter Nachrichten found that Pur sounded “like a mixture of Modern Talking and Reinhard Mey ” on the new album , while the Badische Zeitung stated that the music “as always [is], soft rock, only here and there a little more guitar-heavy than otherwise."

The album has become “a more than passable pop album, rousing rock in places, then attractively ballad-like, elaborately produced, sometimes overproduced, but not unsympathetic, peppered with catchy refrains that […] sometimes amaze with ideas for finding melodies that after 25 years of pure deserve all respect, ”wrote the Stuttgarter Zeitung , but criticized the lyrics as cheesy. The Kölnische Rundschau also perceived the texts as “thickly applied… high school poetry. Pop embarrassments are just part of the business and maybe also part of the Swabians' recipe for success. "

Awards

For more than 300,000 units sold, It's Like It's Received Triple Gold. Pur was nominated for an Echo in the category “Group of the Year (national)” for her 2007 album .
