Roland Bless (born March 8, 1961 in Bietigheim ) is a German musician and former member of the band PUR . There he played up to and including the Adventure Land tour in 1995/96, but far beyond that only in TV appearances and in music videos of the band, drums, then mostly acoustic guitar, sometimes also percussion. He also supported PUR as a background singer.

Bless was one of the co-founders of the school band Crusade , from which the band PUR later developed. He had been friends with their member Ingo Reidl since early childhood. At the age of 12 he was already playing the drums .

In addition to music, he took up a degree in electrical engineering , with the aim of later working as a vocational school teacher . Bless studied until he received his first state examination , but did not take up the subsequent legal clerkship because of the prospect of becoming a professional musician.

At Pur he took on management tasks which he later handed over to Uwe Dittus , Günther Liebherr and Ulrich Roth . Bless also appears in cabaret, with parodies at the center.

The official separation from PUR took place on May 3, 2010. Bless is under contract with Koch Universal. In March 2011 he released his debut album Back to You , which was produced by Dieter Falk , an old companion from PUR times.

After various creative projects in recent years, Roland Bless is back in March 2019 with his second solo album Sternenstaub .
