Attention is a 2015 music album by the German group Pur .

Creation and publication

The songs on the album Achtung were written between 2014 and 2015. Hartmut Engler wrote the text for the song Lights at the beginning of 2015, without knowing that the lines would become more topical nine months later in the wake of the refugee crisis. The program Sing mein Song , in which Hartmut Engler took part in spring 2015 and which was broadcast from May 19 to July 7, 2015 , also had an influence on the album . Hartmut Engler presented the title song Achtung, for example, as part of the program. On June 16, 2015, the single Achtung was released as an MP3 download. The proceeds from a version with the children's choir of the Bietigheim-Bissingen music school went to the Toni Kroos Foundation.

The song Who holds the world back, interpreted by Xavier Naidoo , Carolin Niemczyk and Hartmut Engler , which is included on the album and was also released as a single, goes back to the cooperation in the show . While Engler wrote the verses of the song, Naidoo was the author of the chorus. With Niemczyk from the group Glasperlenspiel , which can be heard in the chorus, Pur appeared together at the Pur & Friends concert in September 2014 . The song Anni was written for Engler's mother's 90th birthday and as a supplement to When she hears this tango . Engler was inspired to write the song on the occasion of Daniel Wirtz 's interpretation of Wenn Sie den Tango bei Sing mein Song (number 14 in the German single charts); the very next day he had finished Anni .

The album title Achtung was deliberately chosen ambiguously (pay attention to someone, pay attention to something). The cover design comes from Artworque / Michaela Schmidt and Martin Ansel.

Attention was released on September 18, 2015 and immediately reached number 1 in the charts, but was pushed from the top of the charts in the second week by the album Dos Bros by the group The BossHoss . On November 21, 2015, the four-part documentary 35 Years of PUR - Journey to Adventure Land appeared on VOX, which showed the group, among other things, for a year working on Achtung and preparing for the tour.

From December 2015, the group went on an album tour, with the preview taking place on December 3, 2015 in Sinsheim. The official tour start was on December 5, 2015 in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin; more concerts followed in large halls. In the spring of 2016, Pur continued the tour with 23 more concerts in smaller towns, with the dress rehearsal taking place on March 31, 2016 in Heilbronn.

In response to caution, Engler said “with a distinctive voice, calling for more mutual respect and taking a stand against xenophobia. The songs are partly melancholy, but not hopeless, ”wrote the Höchst Kreisblatt . The Ostthüringer newspaper found that the group on respect for "melancholy perhaps, but still [e] twas with their typical glimmer of hope" auftrete.
