Rudi Buttas (* 6. April 1955 in Becej , Yugoslavia ) is a German pop - guitarist . He has been playing guitar in the band Pur since 1980 .

Buttas is married and has two sons and a daughter. In his spare time he gives guitar lessons at the music school in Freiberg am Neckar .

In addition to pure , he is also dedicated to his own project called "RUDY's Journey". The first album "RUDY's Journey" was released in 2001, in March 2006 the second album "... on my side" came out, on which a song was sung by Rudi Buttas himself. Their voices lent their first album: Michael Sadler , Michelle Young, David Hanselmann and Jochen Schild. For the second he was able to win Chris Thompson and again Michelle Young.

The formation with the current line-up is live on stage: Rudi Buttas (guitar), Joe Crawford (bass), Matthias Grossmann (guitar), Jochen Weiss (drums) and Ron G. Gehrmann (vocals / guitar), every now and then also Britta Medeiros and Michelle Young. In March 2009 as well as in March and April 2010 the group went on tour with Michael Sadler .

Former band members of the live band: David Hanselmann , Silvia Vicinelli, Jochen Schild, Holger Mägerle and Simon Fetzer.
