Michael Sadler (born July 5, 1954 in Penarth , Wales ) is a Welsh singer and founding member of the Canadian neo-prog rock band Saga .

biography

Michael Sadler originally worked as a draftsman in a graphics studio. Together with Jim Crichton, Steve Negus and Peter Rochon, he founded the group The Pockets in Toronto , Canada in 1977 as the forerunner of Saga. Sadler is the center of the band as a charismatic singer. As a multi-instrumentalist he also plays bass and keyboard . Together with Steve Negus he played the double drum solo "A Brief Case" (LP Saga in Transit - live , 1982). Sadler left Saga in 2007 for personal reasons, but returned as a singer and frontman in January 2011 following an official announcement by the band.

In 1994 Sadler sang songs from the Moody Blues together with Justin Hayward and the Frankfurt Rock Orchester on the album Justin Hayward & friends sing the Moody Blues Classic Hits . In 2008 he worked with ORSO - The Rock Symphony Orchestra .

In addition to his work with Saga, he released two solo albums, each of which he worked with the German guitarist Marcus Deml .
