Wishes is a 2009 music album by the group Pur .

Creation and publication

Pur worked from winter 2007 to spring 2009 on the new album Wünsche . Unlike previous albums were to wish all five band members involved in the development of the songs. On the new album, singer Hartmut Engler processed, among other things, the separation from his girlfriend Nubya in May 2008, his subsequent depression and his alcohol abuse ( somewhere ; healthy ).

The album's only real love song, The Gifted Day , came about late and goes back to Engler's new relationship after the breakup. The song Frau Schneider deals with the topic of dementia and was the result of Engler's visit to an old people's home. Hartmut Engler sings the best in a duet with Janine Meyer, singer of the band Luxuslärm . The single Irgendwo was pre- coupled on August 21, 2009 and reached number 26 in the German single charts.

On August 31, 2009, Pur presented the new album to around 100 fans in Berlin's Admiralspalast . Wish was released on September 4, 2009 and went straight to number 1 in the German album charts.

From November 27th to December 12th, 2009 the group went on tour in Germany, with the preview taking place on November 25th in the Gerry Weber Stadium in Halle (Westphalia) . The tour started in the Olympiahalle Munich and ended with two concerts in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle 1 . During the tour, Pur played in front of more than 162,000 spectators. The new album was also presented at Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel and at the 2009 José Carreras Gala .

"As in the early 90s, the band draws hope from the old soul recipe in a well-behaved, value-conservative and homely manner, naturally not creating a new musical creation, but a solid rehabilitation of their musical language, which is based on the broad consensus between Genesis and Tom Petty ", wrote the Aachener Zeitung . "With the album Wünsche (EMI), Pur are back in the big pop of binding non-commitment, a human feeling that finds the lowest common denominator of people like you and me without offending," said the Ostthüringer Zeitung . The Passauer Neue Presse praised the album, on which "the effort to play out the entire musical spectrum of the quintet in 16 songs [...] is clearly noticeable." Pur convince "with a little courage to be more musical openness."

The Stern criticized especially the title song requests , calling it a "clear [n] the case of dismay staging by Heranwanzung to the oft-cited little man." "The texts of, Wünsche' CD have more depth than its predecessor, but musically while Not too much happened after three years of stage abstinence. Pur still stands for party pop with catchy rhythms that are perfect for clapping along, ”wrote the Kölnische Rundschau .

Awards

Wish was awarded a platinum record for more than 200,000 units sold . Pur received an echo nomination in the category “Group of the Year (national)” for the 2010 album .
