Life

From December 2002 to August 2009 he was in a relationship with Marianne Goriuk, whom he met at a concert in Edmonton . She owned a hairdressing salon and receives $ 25,000 a month in maintenance from her common-law marriage with Kroeger . He was in a relationship with Kristen DeWitt from Salem , Ohio, until the spring of 2012 , when he turned to rock singer Avril Lavigne . After the two got engaged on August 8, 2012, the wedding took place on July 1, 2013, Canada's national holiday . In September 2015, Lavigne announced the split.
In the summer of 2015, a Nickelback tour through North America had to be canceled because Kroeger suffered from a cyst on his larynx that had to be operated on.
Career
After graduating from high school , he began touring guitar for a cover band in the early 1990s . Also in the band were his half-brother Mike Kroeger as bassist and Ryan Peake as guitarist. They performed numerous songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers .
After the tour, the band broke up and Chad was able to convince his brother Mike, their mutual cousin Brandon Kroeger (as drummer ) and Ryan Peake (as singer and guitarist) to visit a recording studio in Vancouver and record a few songs he had written . In 1995 he finally founded the band Nickelback in his birthplace Hanna (Alberta). Since the founding, the group's drummers have changed several times; after Ryan Vikedal , Daniel Adair has played in the band since 2005 .

The Nickelback front man also supports bands like Default and Daughtry . He gives tips, sells and advertises their records and writes lyrics.
The track Why Don't You & I (feat. Carlos Santana) was recorded for his album Shaman . Due to concerns on the part of Kroeger's record company in relation to sales of the Nickelback album The Long Road , which was released at the same time , the title for the single was recorded again, this time with Alex Band from The Calling as the singer.
