Nelonen is a private Finnish television broadcaster . In addition to the two public broadcasters Yle TV1 and Yle TV2 and the commercial channel MTV3 , Nelonen is one of the four largest television stations in Finland and the program is broadcast nationally.
Like all four national channels, the station is conceived as a full program with news, documentaries, sports and entertainment. But more than half of its programming is bought-in American and European entertainment formats.
Nelonen launched on June 1, 1997; most of the station is owned by Sanoma .
