Family Beyblade Spinning Top Competition 2012

Beyblade ( Japanese 爆 転 シ ュ ー ト ベ イ ブ レ ー ド , Bakuten Shoot: Beyblade ) is a manga series by Takao Aoki that resulted in several anime film adaptations. The internationally successful series is about young people fighting with spinning tops. The tops were marketed as merchandise. The manga and anime continued through Beyblade: Metal Fusion from 2008 .

game

The Beyblade competition tops have been manufactured and sold by Takara Co. in Japan since 1999 . At the same time, when the game went on sale, the anime began broadcasting on Japanese television. Hasbro's game has also been sold internationally since 2002 and was one of the most popular games worldwide from 2000 to 2005. Over 100 million pieces were sold worldwide.

The game of the same name is often played in a special, bowl-shaped arena, the so-called Beystadium , but can also take place on another surface. The aim is to keep your top in the arena longer than your opponent's top. The winner is the one whose top spins last in the arena. To get a Beyblade to rotate, a so-called starter with a rip cord is used.

A Beyblade generally consists of three parts: the attack ring , the weight disk and the blade base . These are evaluated according to the criteria of attack , defense and endurance . The individual parts of different Beyblades can be combined as desired, whereby the overall thickness can be increased.

Manga

The manga series by Takao Aoki appeared in Japan from September 1999 to July 2004 in individual chapters monthly in the manga magazine Coro Coro Comic , in which Rockman.EXE and Hoshi no Kirby were published at the same time . The Shogakukan publishing house brought out these individual chapters with 176 pages in 14 anthologies.

The manga appeared in North America, France, Spain and Germany, among others. In 2003 , Panini Comics published five of the fourteen volumes on the Planet Manga label in German translation . Due to poor sales figures, the remaining volumes were not published in Germany.

The manga has been continued by Metal Fight: Beyblade since 2008 .

action

Beyblade

When the Beyblader Tyson Granger rushes to the aid of his friends because they have been cheated of their Beyblades, he meets the mysterious Kai Hiwatari for the first time. It turns out that Kai is the leader of a gang who is also the reigning Beyblade regional champion. In an ensuing fight between Tyson and Kai Kai Tyson defeated using a mysterious Bitbeast s called Dranzer that emerges from Kais Blade. BitBeasts are powerful animal-shaped spirits whose power lies within a few Beyblades. Tyson soon comes into possession of such a bitbeast and at least leads to a draw with Kai. Meanwhile, he befriends the American Max Tate, who lives in Japan.

Another strong Beyblader named Ray Kon from China appears at the regional championship in Tokyo organized by the Beyblade Association BBA (Beyblade Battle Association) . In the final, Kai and Tyson compete against each other again and Tyson wins. After the tournament, the four strongest Bladers Tyson, Kai, Max and Ray will form the Bladebreakers team , which will compete in the World Cup. The young tech fanatic Kenny supports them. The team can defeat the Asian team White Tigers and the American team Allstarz and thus qualify for the world championship, although team captain Kai is often distant.

New problems also arise in Moscow, where the World Cup is taking place, when one night Kai does not return to the hotel. The next day he is on the side of their opponents, the Demolition Boys , who belong to his grandfather Voltaire Hiwatari. Voltaire wants to usurp world domination with the help of a criminal organization and the Beyblade sport. Kai single-handedly beats other teams and ruthlessly steals their BitBeasts. But when it comes to the unofficial fight outside of the tournament between the Bladebreakers and Kai, they can win him again. With united forces they compete in the final fight against the Demolition Boys and win.

Beyblade V-Force

The world championship tournament is now far back and the Bladebreakers have long ceased to exist. Tyson and Kenny are the only ones who stayed together. A schoolmate, Hilary Taichibana, befriends them. Then Tyson is attacked by the mysterious Ozuma, who is part of the Beyblade team Saint Shields , who want to steal the BitBeasts of the former Bladebreakers in order to wipe out their power. After Ozuma wins, Tyson and Kenny get messages from Max and Ray that they have also been defeated by mysterious Beybladers. Kai is also challenged by Dunga from Team Saint Shields at his boarding school, but he does not respond to it because he has stopped with the Beyblade.

When Tyson is later attacked by a Blader from the Psykick organization, Kai comes to his aid and they both win the fight. Kai didn't really want to know anything more about Beybladen and the Bladebreakers, but he joins the team again when Max and Ray come back. Psykick own Bitbeasts, which are based on the models of the original BitBeasts of the Bladebreakers on a cyber-electronic level. Before the Bladebreakers can finally take part in the World Cup in teams of two (Tyson with Max and Kai with Ray), they make peace with the Saint Shields and turn off Psykick.

In the final of the World Cup it suddenly turns out that a newfound friend of the Bladebreakers, Zeo, is not a human at all, but an android. He fights with the Bitbeast Burning Cerberus against Kai and Max and captures their BitBeasts. He believes that he will become a real person, just as his father instilled in him. In a tough final battle, however, Tyson can defeat Zeo and get the BitBeasts back.

G revolution

Young Beyblader Daichi Sumeragi comes to Tokyo to contest Tyson for the world championship title. In addition, a Beyblader appears who calls himself Jin, the Lord of the Storms . Daichi nests with Tyson without further ado, wins the sympathy of his grandfather and soon afterwards cannot be shaken off.

But the new world championship is coming soon. Ray and Max decide that they can only become world champions if they defeat Tyson, which is why they leave the team and visit their old teams in China and the USA. After Kai and Tyson's victory in World Cup qualifiers, the mysterious Jin turns out to be Hiro, Tyson's long-missing older brother. He becomes the trainer of the Bladebreakers. But after a short time Kai disappears and only appears as a new member of the Blitzkrieg Boys at the World Cup . Like Max and Ray, he has finally decided on another team to get his game against Tyson, which has been open since the last World Cup. Daichi and Tyson have now come together as partners. During the World Cup, the old Bladebreakers face each other like enemies until it is certain that Blitzkrieg Boys will fight Tyson's new team BBA Revolution in the final. Tyson can keep his title after a close win.

But shortly after the World Cup, Boris shows up and distributes the BBA with his beyblade organization BEGA. Tyson decides to fight the BEGA team and has Max and Ray by his side. Kai also appears again, but he takes the side of BEGA. Tyson's brother Hiro trains the BEGA team. When Kai is beaten by the best BEGA player Brooklyn during the selection games within BEGA, he withdraws. Finally, the day comes when the Bladebreakers fight against BEGA. Kai finds a new blade for Dranzer at Tala, who had previously been fought for hospital by BEGA player Garland, which Kenny left him. He comes to the tournament and is supposed to play against BEGA-Blader Garland, but he demands revenge against Brooklyn. Kai wins, but collapses afterwards. Kai sacrificed his Bitbeast Dranzer for this victory. Tyson plays the last fight and wins, bringing the BBA back to power. However, this very last game between Tyson and Brooklyn results in the total destruction of the city of Tokyo. At the end, Kai and Tyson have a friendship match in which Dranzer appears again.

Characters

  • Tyson Granger (木 ノ 宮 タ カ オ, Kinomiya Takao ) is often stubborn and rash. However, he is ready to do anything for his friends, who are like family to him. In the course of history the strongest development can be observed in him, with increasing age he becomes more serious and self-confident. His mother (Mary) died when he was little, his father is an archaeologist. Tyson lives in Japan in a large dojo estate with his grandfather, who tries to teach him kendo by all means . At the beginning of the series he receives from an old family katana the Bitbeast Dragoon (in the original: Seiryuu ). His father does excavations in China, where his brother Hiro is mostly present. In the manga, he meets Ray there and can persuade him to take part in the tournament in Japan. In the manga you also learn that Tyson has a son named Makoto, who looks very similar to him and also takes part in some tournaments.
  • Max Tate (水 原 マ ッ ク, Mizuhara Makkusu ) moves to Japan at the beginning of season one, where his father runs a Beyblade parts shop. His mother lives in New York, where she is the All Starz team. conducts and explores the beyblades. Max is the sunshine of the group and difficult to irritate. He never goes into a fight without a strategy. Usually it has to do with the element water, as its name suggests (Mizu = water). His bitbeast is therefore a turtle bitbeast named Draciel (in the original: Genbu ).
  • Ray Kon (金 李, Kon Rei ), a Chinese and a trained Zen master, was once a member of the White Tiger team in his homeland until he secretly left to discover the world. He let go of the Tiger-BitBeast Drigger (in the original: Byakko ), which he had received from the grandfather of his teammate (Lee), with which he fueled the anger of his old team and later in the series no longer meets them for good. But at the end of the first season he defeats his old team and gets along with them again. The White Tigers taught themselves to beyblade because they come from a small Chinese village on the edge of civilization. Ray has a friendly personality and is the realist of the group, is ambitious, strict with his teammates and one of Tyson's most important friends. At the end of the manga, he has a daughter, Rin, with Mariah.
  • Kai Hiwatari (火 渡 カ イ, Hiwatari Kai ) fights with Dranzer (in the original: Suzaku ). He has the coolest, calmest being on the team. Kai is half Russian, half Japanese and, despite his cold mask, it is not uncommon for a destructive rage to break out of him. He once started blading in an abbey in Russia where his skills could develop. Despite his dismissive nature, a close bond develops between him and the Bladebreakers. His grandfather's name is Voltaire. In the manga he hated the beyblades because his father was driven out by Voltaire because he was more interested in beyblades than in the company. This only changed when he met Tyson. At the end of the manga, Kai has a son, Gou, who is very similar to him.
  • Kenny (キ ョ ウ ジ, Kyōju ) doesn't own a Beyblade himself in the first two seasons, but later he gets the spring-loaded Blade Hopper in exchange for the sarcastic, speaking BitBeast girl Dizzy, who is previously locked in his laptop. The two form the brain of the team. Kenny and Dizzy build ever better Beyblades for the members of the BladeBreakers, the optimal composition of which he had previously calculated on the laptop.
  • Hilary (立 花 ヒ ロ ミ, Tachibana Hiromi ) doesn't play with Beyblades herself, she is more like the female pole and fan club of the BladeBreakers. She helps them train and is the class representative in Tyson's class. Hilary initially struggled with seeing Bitbeasts. From the middle of the third season she tries to emulate the female bladers of other teams with moderate success.
  • Tala Valkov ( Ivanov Yuriy. ) Is one of the Demolition Boys who once worked for Biovolt, which was run by Kai's grandfather. This organization had the goal to usurp world domination through young bladers. In the third Beyblade season, Tala and his teammates broke up with the Biovolt because it was destroyed by the Bladebreakers, and together with Kai they found the Blitzkrieg Boys. Tala has the charisma of a wolf, that's why he also owns the BitBeast Wolborg.
  • Brooklyn is the BEGA league's secret weapon, he rarely fights, so there is hardly any data available about him. He never trains because he thinks he's a natural. This changes when Hiro overflows to Bega. Brooklyn prefers to be in nature and observe animals. In the decisive fight with Tyson he gets to know the true spirit of the Bladens, which does not prevent the complete destruction of Tokyo by his hand.
  • Daichi (皇 大地, Sumeragi Daichi ) has a rather quick-tempered temperament, considers himself the best Beyblader in the world and often clashes with Tyson, with whom he later forms the BBA Revolution team. Nevertheless, Daichi is a serious opponent, his BitBeast is Gaia Dragoon (in American and German: Strata Dragoon). At the end of the manga series, he becomes the new referee for the BBA.
  • Hiro Granger ( Kinomiya Hitoshi ) appears for the first time in the third season of Beyblade. He is Tyson's big brother, a gifted blader, and has disappeared for a long time. It was through him that Tyson began to blade. He later becomes the BBA Revolution trainer after impersonating Jin, Lord of the Storms .
  • Mariah and Lee ( Mao and Rai ) are two members of the White Tigers and siblings (in G Revolution “White Tiger X”, Japanese “Bai Fu Zu”) and before Ray's disappearance his closest friends. Like Ray, they have cat-like characteristics and their BitBeasts are named Galleon and Gallux. Due to their close and trusting coexistence, Mariah got used to referring to both Lee and Ray as "Nii-chan" (= big brother), where Lee is actually her brother.
  • Team All Starz consists of the Blader team, Emily, Steven, Eddie and Michael, the team is led by Max's mother Judy Tate.

Conception

The number five is a sacred number in Japan and therefore the traditional number of people in a group of justice campaigners. The Bladebreakers also have five members, Tyson, Kai, Max, Ray and Kenny.
The original names of the Bitbeasts of the Bladebreakers are borrowed from the Japanese names of the four Chinese star constellations around the zodiac.
