Beyblade: Metal Fusion ( Japanese メ タ ル フ ァ イ ト ベ イ ブ レ ー ド , Metaru Faito Beiburēdo for Metal Fight Beyblade ) is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Takafumi Adachi and an anime TV series based on it, which are based on the 1999 Beyblade game and the TV series based on it. At the same time as the series, the Hasbro toy was reissued and went on sale in Germany in autumn 2010. The anime is known in Germany as Beyblade: Metal Fusion , its later seasons also as Beyblade: Metal Masters and Beyblade: Metal Fury . Like the previous series, it revolves around dueling tops, called beyblades , with which players compete against each other.

In 2012, the manga and anime continued through Metal Fight Beyblade Zero-G , known outside of Japan as Beyblade: Shogun Steel .

action

Eleven-year-old Kenta Yumiya, owner of the beyblade Flame Sagittario and an enthusiastic blader, lives in the Japanese city of Yokohama . Shortly after a match, he is stopped by a couple of thugs called Face Hunters. At that moment he is saved by twelve-year-old Gingka Hagane, whose Beyblade Storm Pegasus is called. Gingka is then challenged by the leader of the Face Hunters, thirteen-year-old Kyōya Tategami (Rock Leone). Gingka can narrowly decide the victory for themselves. Meanwhile, Gingka and Kenta become friends with twelve-year-old technology fanatic Madoka Amano. Kyōya, however, desperately wants to take revenge against Gingka. A mysterious man named Doji with the Bey Dark Wolf from an organization called DNO (Dark Nebula Organization) promises Kyōya a well-equipped training. In return, he would like to see him win against Gingka. Meanwhile, Gingka confronts other opponents in Yokohama such as Hikaru Hasama with the Bey Storm Aquario and Tetsuya Watarigani with the Bey Mad Gasher, all of whom he defeats. Suddenly, Kyōya returns to Yokohama completely changed. He dissolves the Face Hunters, destroys their headquarters in the harbor and fights Kenta and his former friend Benkei almost ready for hospital.

Kenta brings Benkei to Madoka's apartment, where he asks Gingka to show Kyōya the true meaning of Beyblade sport. When the two compete against each other again, it is revealed that Kyōya has apparently been brainwashed that has made him irritable, aggressive, and vicious. Gingka can defeat Kyōya again, whereupon Doji appears. He throws Kyōya with his Beyblade Dark Wolf against the stadium wall , where he lies unconscious. Gingka disappeared after the Doji incident. Madoka has nursed Kyōya back to health at home, whereupon he behaves normally again. When suddenly Gingka appears, Kyōya has disappeared again. Gingka tells Kenta, Madoka and Benkei that he knows Doji and the DNO from before.

When the four attempt to break into the DNO headquarters on the coast of Japan, they unexpectedly receive support from Kyōya. In the building they meet Doji and a seventeen year old boy named Ryūga who owns the unique left-handed Bey Lightning L-Drago. Gingka hates Ryuga. Gingka fights with him, but cannot defeat him. They then return to Yokohama, accompanied by Kyōya. Shortly thereafter, Gingka disappears, leaving a letter in which he writes that he has made his way to his homeland, the small town of Comaville, to improve his Beyblade skills.

Kenta, Madoka, Benkei and Kyōya search for Gingka and discover that the city of Comaville doesn't officially exist. Then they drive into the mountains and continue looking there. After an argument between the four of them, they split up in pairs and, thanks to the fourteen-year-old Hyoma, still reach Comaville with the Bey Rock Aries. A dog named Hokuto tells them that Gingka climbed Mount Fuji to improve his strength. After a long and arduous climb, Gingka finally finds a cave with a letter from his father. So he descends from the mountain and meets the other five. They spend a few more days together in Comaville and finally return to Yokohama. Hyoma stays in Comaville with Hokuto.

The international beyblade organization WBBA (World Beyblade Battle Association) is holding a so-called fight for survival on an abandoned island far out in the Pacific. The bladers compete against each other and whoever is left gets a wish from the WBBA. The DNO also send a blader to the island: ten-year-old Yu Tendo with the Bey Flame Libra, who lived alone in the Nevada desert for a long time. He befriends Kenta and wins the fight for survival.

Yu's wish is to take part in the Battle Bladers , a DNO tournament to determine the best blader in Japan. All bladers who participate must take part in various qualifying matches across Japan. To qualify you need 50,000 beypoints. Then the main characters separate. Madoka is going back to Yokohama to support everyone from there. Gingka makes his way to Kobe and Kenta goes to Osaka . Gingka meets Tsubasa Otori with the Bey Earth Eagle and Kenta meets Sora Akatsuki, both of whom are also Blader. Sora, who wants to be Gingka the same in all respects, understands that he has to develop his own fighting style that has to match his bey.

When the qualifying fights are over and the players Gingka, Kyoya, Tsubasa, Kenta, Benkei and the DNO's best bladers are the only ones left in the tournament, the DNO surprisingly announces that the tournament will not take place in Kyoto as planned , but in Tokyo becomes. The Tokyo Bey Arena there is right next to the twin skyscrapers of the DNO Center, so Doji and Ryuga can see and watch the entire tournament. In the first semifinals, Gingka and Reiji meet. Reiji, DNO No. 2 behind Ryuga, previously defeated Kenta and Hyoma and damaged their Beys. However, Gingka can defeat him and Reiji turns to stone. In the second semi-final, Ryuga and Kyoya fight each other. Ryuga previously defeated Hikaru and Tsubasa impressively and sent both to the hospital. A tough fight develops, in which L-Drago takes possession of Ryuga in the end and wins the fight.

When all the other candidates except Gingka and Ryuga are out, it turns out that the mysterious Phoenix, who has appeared several times before, is Gingka's father, believed to be lost. In the final fight between Gingka and Ryuga, L-Drago Ryuga seems to take over physically. But Gingka can finally switch off L-Drago with a new technique, whereupon Pegasus dissolves into dust.

In the sequel Beyblade Metal Masters, Ginga and his friends are looking for the legendary Bey Galaxy Pegasus. He is trapped in a rock and Ginga is the only one who can pull him out. It quickly becomes clear they fit together, but Ginga does not yet know how to control him. The stubborn Blader Masamune with the Bey Ray Striker challenges him again and again and always loses pathetically. But after a tough training session, he manages to beat Ginga.

The new biggest event in the Beyblade world is imminent. The World Cup. The bladers who represent the Japanese team are Ginga (Galaxy Pegasus), Masamune (Ray Striker), Tsubasa (Earth Eagle) and Yu (Flame Libra). In the first round they compete against the Chinese team. In the first match Masamune wins with Ray Striker against Chaoxin with Virgo. The second match is played by Tsubasa with Earth Eagle and Chi-Yun Li with Thermal Lacerta. It looks bad for Tsubasa but then he freaks out. Explosions devastate the stadium and for Lacerta it looks like a bitter end, but when the totally freaked Tsubasa wants to give him the devastating blow, his Bey rushes into the arena. In the last fight, Gingka and Galaxy Pegasus and Dashan Wang and Rock Zurufa face each other. It looks bad for Galaxy Pegasus as Zurufa wears a rubber cover around him. Only when he gave him a very strong attack that broke the rubber was he able to unite his forces to bring the victory for his team.

In the second round they face the Russian team, which is bad but redesigned the arena to their advantage. For Yu and Ginga it will be easy in the end and they bring the victory for Japan. In the third round they face the strong team from Africa, led by Kyoya. Nile and Masamune fight the first fight. Nile is incredibly strong and easily wins the match. The second match is played by Ginka and Kyoya. Both Bladers passed out after a tough fight and it ended in a draw.

Next, Tsubasa and Yu fight Damure and Benkei. In the beginning it looks like Damure and Benkei will win the fight, but Tsubasa has absorbed his dark power and wins the duel. Finally, Team Gang Gang Galaxy also wins the fight between Ginga and Masamune against Kyoya and Nile and is in the final of Group A against Team Excalibur. There Masamune loses the first match against the superhuman Klaus from Excalibur. In the next match, Tsubasa and Yu face Sophie and Wales. At first it looks bad for Tsubasa and Yu and Tsubasa is fighting against the dark power. In the end, Tsubasa can win against the dark power and thus ensure victory for his team. Julien Group and Gingka meet in the decisive match. After a tough fight, however, Gingka can win the match and the team is in the semi-finals.

In the semifinals, the Japanese team will meet the Brazilian team Garcia, which consists of siblings. Before the actual fight starts, the Brazilian team attacks Garcia Yu, weakening Gingka's team. The Garcias then challenge the team to a 4 vs 4 elimination fight. There Yu is eliminated first at the beginning. They can also kick out Gingka and Masamune with nasty tricks. Finally, Argo Garcia and Tsubasa face each other. However, Tsubasa can defeat Argo after a tough fight and are thus in the finals of the world championships. In the second semi-final, Excalibur meets the American team Starbreaker, which only appears with two bladers. Jack wins the victory against Klaus quite easily, who "drew" a picture of the arena with his Bey infestation. In the second fight, Julien Group and Damian face each other. Damian challenges Julien to a best of 3 fight, which Julien also accepts. Damian easily gets the first point. In the second fight, Damian humiliates Julien by delaying the decisive blow. Sophie and Wales then intervene in the fight, which leads to disqualification. Damian, however, is unimpressed and defeats all three with his special move.

Damian Tsubasa and Yu are injured before the finals, so they cannot participate in the finals. In the first fight Masamune and his friend Zeo face each other. At the end of the fight Zeo gets all his strength and more out of himself and can finally win the fight. In the second match, Jack and Ryuga, who has taken Tsubasa / Yu's place, face each other. Jack is about to win his match, "draws" another picture in the arena and strikes for the last stroke. However, Ryuga only played with Jack and was able to win the match with his special move. In the all-important match, Gingka and Damian are now fighting. After Damian Gingka also dominates, Gingka fights back. With all his strength he wins and the Japanese team wins the world championship.

Over time it turns out that Dr. Ziggurat, the leader of the Starbreaker team, which also includes Masamune's friend Zeo, gathers data on L-Drago and Pegasus to create the most powerful of all Beys: Twisted Tempo, which is controlled by another friend of Masamune, Toby. When Tempo is supposed to use the Beys' natural energy, spiral force, to destroy the world, it causes a meltdown . Ginga and Ryuga team up and stop the meltdown, while Masamune and Zeo stop brainwashed Toby and give him his memory.

Some time after the World Championships, the next adventure begins. The young astronomer and blader Yuki Mizusawa observed a meteorite that suddenly bursts into ten pieces. One of the fragments fell in his observatory and struck Anubius in his Bey Mercury. Meanwhile, another fragment hit Galaxy Pegasus, which was being repaired by Madoka.
