TV Tokyo
The TV Tokyo (or TX ) ( Japanese 株式会社 テ レ ビ 東京 Kabushiki kaisha Terebi Tōkyō , English TV TOKYO Corporation ) is a television station, whose programs are produced in Minato , Tokyo , Japan . It is also the beacon transmitter of the television networks TXN.
TV Tokyo is known for its anime series. TV TOKYO Broadband Entertainment, Inc. offers downloadable broadcasts.
history
On April 12, 1964, the television station was founded by the Japan Science Promotion Foundation and was then still called Tōkyō 12 Channel. On July 1, 1968, the KK Tōkyō 12 Channel Production ( 株式会社 東京 12 チ ャ ン ネ ル プ ロ ダ ク シ ョ ン Kabushiki-gaisha Tōkyō 12 Channeru Purodakushon , English Tokyo Channel 12 Production, Ltd. ) was founded. In October the company was renamed KK Tōkyō 12 Channel ( 株式会社 東京 12 チ ャ ン ネ ル Kabushiki-gaisha Tōkyō 12 Channeru , English Tokyo Channel 12, Ltd. ) and took over the television operations of the Foundation. The company was given its current Japanese name on October 1, 1981.
In December 1985, Shibakoen's main office moved to Toranomon. On December 12, 1999, the second studio opened on Tennozu Isle. On June 25, 2003, the English name was renamed TV TOKYO Corporation . In 2004 TV Tokyo celebrated its 40th anniversary.
On October 1, 2010, a holding system was introduced with the establishment of KK TV Tōkyō Holdings ( 株式会社 テ レ ビ 東京 ホ ー ル デ ィ ン グ ス , Kabushiki-gaisha Terebi Tōkyō Hōrudingusu ), whose 100% subsidiary TV Tokyo became. The five largest shareholders are 31.46% of the newspaper publisher Nihon Keizai Shimbun , 6.09% of the golf course and restaurant operator Shin Nihon Kankō, 4.77% of TV Tokyo, 3.60% of the insurer Nihon Seimei Hoken and zu 3.48% to the Mitsui Bussan conglomerate .
TXN
In 1983, TV Tokyo co-founded a network with TV Osaka and TV Aichi called Mega TON (from Megalopolis Tokyo-Osaka Network ), with TV Tokyo acting as the lead broadcaster. It was later renamed TXN for TX Network . To date, the network has grown to 6 stations, which cover the following regions:
