Akira Ishida

Akira Ishida ( Japanese 石田 彰 , Ishida Akira , born November 2, 1967 in Nisshin , Aichi Prefecture ) is a Japanese voice actor ( seiyū ). Until March 2009 he was part of the Mausu Promotion agency .

Some of his most famous roles are Chrono from Chrno Crusade , Gaara from Naruto and Judeau from Berserk or Shin'ichi Okazaki from Nana .

Life

Akira Ishida came to Tokyo in 1986 to study at Nihon University , where he studied theater at the Faculty of Arts. During his time as a student in 1988, he began training at the acting school of the artist agency Ezaki Productions. He graduated from university in 1990 and has since been represented by Ezaki Productions, which changed its name to Mausu Promotion in 2000.

His career began in 1990 with a role in the anime Kidō Keisatsu Patlabor , since then he has appeared in numerous animes, games, drama CDs etc. and has also worked in real films and theater productions.

In 2007 he was named Best Supporting Actor for roles like Athrun Zala ( Gundam Seed Destiny ) and Joel Goldschmidt ( Blood + ) at the 1st Seiyū Awards , and was voted the most popular voice actor in the 2004 Animage Anime Grand Prix.
