Toshiyuki Morikawa ( Japanese 森川 智 之 , Morikawa Toshiyuki , born January 26, 1967 in Kanagawa Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese voice actor ( seiyū ) and singer . He heads the Axl One agency .

His best known roles include Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII , Shagia Frost from Gundam X , Griffith from Berserk , Naraku from Inu Yasha and Conrad Weller from Kyo kara Maoh! . He is the Japanese dubbing voice of Ewan McGregor , Johnny Depp , Brad Pitt , Will Smith and other well-known actors.

biography

Morikawa is a graduate of the Katsuta Seiyū School ( 勝 田 声優 学院 ) in Tokyo, which also produced other well-known Seiyū, such as Tomokazu Seki , Katsuyuki Konishi and Daisuke Hirakawa . He also works there as a lecturer.

Together with Fumihiko Tachiki he forms the seiyū group 2Hearts . It was formed while recording the character song Yume no Ariga , a duet in the roles of Victor (Tachiki) and Ernst (Morikawa) for the Angelique series. Since 2004 they have been releasing singles and albums, and performing at live concerts.

In addition to 2Hearts, Morikawa is also the singer of the band Black Velvet , which is also composed of Kazuya (guitar), Pros (electric bass), ita-shin (keyboard), Kadoshun (か ど し ゅ ん) (drums) and tadd (DJ, background voice) ) consists. He himself appears under his first name Toshiyuki. The band made their debut with the maxi single I silent… , which was released in March 2009.

Axl One

Morikawa, who was previously under contract with Arts Vision, founded the agency Axl One on April 1, 2011. On the same day, Jun Fukuyama moved from Production Baobab to Morikawa's agency.

In addition to management, Axl One also deals with the training of seiyu and actors.
