Yami no Matsuei
Yami no Matsuei ( Japanese 闇 の 末 裔 , heir to darkness ) is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Yōko Matsushita . The manga was implemented as an anime television series.
The work is about the investigations of the two Shinigami Asato and Hisoka and can be classified into the genres of adventure , mystery , comedy and Shōnen-ai .
action
The Shinigami Asato Tsuzuki ( 都 筑 麻 斗 ) works for the Juo Cho, the court for subpoenas for the dead. He and other Shinigami have died but for various reasons did not come to the realm of the dead and are now investigating if a soul arrives at the court too early or too late. Asato is often lazy and greedy, but can summon twelve god generals with his talisman.
One day Asato Hisoka Kurosaki ( 黒 崎 密 ) is assigned as a new partner. As a boy he was raped and cursed by the crazy medic Kazutaka Muraki ( 邑 輝 一 貴 ). The curse consumed him and so he died at the age of 16 and became a Shinigami. Both now investigate together in the cases that are assigned to them by their boss Konoe, against vampires, undead and other supernatural beings and processes. Hisoka is initially overwhelmed with Tsuzuki, but they learn to work together and protect each other. There are also rivalries with her colleagues Seiichiro Tatsumi ( 巽 征 一郎 ) and Yutaka Watari ( 亘 理 温 ), but Hisoka befriends them too.
During the investigation, there are repeated encounters with Muraki, who shows a morbid and erotic interest in Hisoka and Tsuzuki and brings both of them into dangerous situations.
Publications
Manga
Yami no Matsuei was published in Japan from 1997 to 2006 in individual chapters in the manga magazine Hana to Yume of the Hakusensha publishing house. These individual chapters were also published in eleven anthologies by 2001, the chapters published thereafter came out more in anthology due to disputes between Yōko Matsushita and the publisher. The manga had been shortened for the monthly publication in the magazine and since the illustrator was not satisfied with this version, she made improvements for the anthology. The chapters from 2000 and 2001 were combined in a twelfth volume in January 2010. On August 1, 2011, publication in the magazine was resumed. So far (as of February 2015) these have not yet been published in anthologies.
The manga was published in English by Viz Media and in French by Editions Tonkam , and has also been translated into Italian and Polish. The first eleven volumes in German were published by Carlsen Comics from January 2003 to September 2004 .

reception
According to Irene Salzmann from Splashcomics, Yami no Matsuei offers interesting and sophisticated characters as well as beautiful drawings. The super deformed deposits would blend in well with the plot. The Mangaka would still experiment in the first volume, but found a solid line in the second. The plot is a good mixture of Dark Fantasy, Gothic , Shōnen Ai and Comedy . In the further course, the female readers could look forward to more bare skin.
