action
The 17-year-old high school student Rin Tsuchimi lives in a world in which the world of gods and the world of demons has been connected to the world of humans for 10 years. So gods and demons can live peacefully side by side. The gods and demons in this series are not immortal, they are simply names for two different races. The gods have protruding ears, and the power "god magic" (e.g. healing), on the other hand the demons have elongated ears and the power "demon magic" (e.g. destruction).
One day, the leading families of gods and demons move near Rin's home. Rin learns from the heads of the two families that he is the candidate to marry one of the two daughters: Lisianthus, the princess of the race of gods and Nerine, the princess of the demon race. This selection is reinforced by the fact that these two are not only princesses, but also good friends who have met him on a special occasion in the past.
To complete it, there is Rin's childhood friend and roommate Kaede Fuyou, Rin's school friend Asa Shigure, his classmate Itsuki Midoriba, Mayumi Thyme , who was born with iris heterochromia , and the mysterious and mostly silent Primula.
Characters
- Rin Tsuchimi ( 土 見 稟 , Tsuchimi Rin )
- Rin is 17 years old and attends Verban National Academy High School as a normal person. Rin is pretty kind to everyone. This is his greatest strength, which makes him very popular with women, but it is also his greatest weakness. He lost his parents, along with Kaede's mother, in a car accident. That is also the time when he met Lisianthus and Nerine independently for the first time. Either way, they lost their father and Rin played with them until their fathers found them again. That's why Lisianthus and Nerine fell in love with him, and later returned to the human world.
- Lisianthus ( リ シ ア ン サ ス , Rishiansasu )
- Lisianthus, often just called Sia for short , is the princess of the gods . She has come into the human world as a possible candidate for marriage for Rin. She is energetic, enthusiastic and often a little rash. She is a great cook but struggles with English and history at school.
- Nerine ( ネ リ ネ )
- Nerine is the princess of demons . It too came into the human world because of Rin. She has strong demon magic, which allows her to cause great damage quickly. On the other hand, however, she is very shy and extremely polite and formal in her language . In the competition for Rin, she also tries her hand at cooking, but she doesn't succeed very well. In contrast to Lisianthus, however, it has its strengths in learning science.
- Kaede Fuyō ( 芙蓉 楓 , Fuyō Kaede )
- Kaede is Rin's childhood friend, who grew up with him and has lived together since her mother and Rin's parents were killed in a car accident. For some time after starting middle school, she has been taking full care of Rin. So she organizes the house by herself and cooks for him.
- Since her mother died in the car accident, she fell into psychosis for several months . Rin got her out of that by taking the blame for the deaths of her mother and parents on himself. Immediately afterwards Kaede hated Rin to the death and tried several times to injure or even kill him. With that she is going through the emotional change of a yandere . It was only when she found out that it was not him but Kaede's illness that led her to return unexpectedly that her hatred of him faded. She then believed that she was responsible for her mother's death and tried to kill herself by jumping in front of a truck, but Rin saved her, which made her feel guilty. Over the years a complex has developed that drives Kaede to live and serve Rin.
- Asa Shigure ( 時 雨 亜 沙 , Shigure Asa )
- She is a person with a demonic mother. Asa is a pretty energetic girl and enjoys life as a compensation for her ailing condition. She first met Rin in middle school when Kaede was taking the cooking class. Rin then spent a lot of time in her house because Kaede learned to cook there. That was the time she fell in love with Rin.
- Primula ( プ リ ム ラ , Purimura )
- Primula is an artificial form of life in the form of a mysterious girl who came from the world of demons to look for Rin. She is a friend of Nerine and a product of the Yggdrasil project , in which the gods and demons work together to find a way to rule life with magic, for example to bring the dead back to life. Since Primula is an artificial form of life, she initially has few feelings when she appears in the series, but over time she learns to show more and more emotions.
- Eustoma ( ユ ー ス ト マ , Yūsutoma )
- He is the king of the terrace of the gods and Lisianthus father.
- Forbesii ( フ ォ ー ベ シ イ , Fōbeshii )
- He is the king of the demon race and Nerine's father.
- Itsuki Midoriba ( 緑葉 樹 , Midoriba Itsuki )
- Itsuki Midoriba is one of Rin's classmates who always got excellent grades. He's quite a womanizer, which is why he often clashed with Mayumi. His biggest dream is to create a harem.
- Mayumi Thyme ( 麻 弓 = タ イ ム , Mayumi Taimu )
- Mayumi Thyme is one of Rin's classmates and a half-demon. What is striking about her are her different colored eyes and her flat breasts (see Pettanko ), which she proudly says: “Flat breasts are a status symbol! They are rare! ”( 貧 乳 は ス テ ー タ ス だ! 希少 価 値 だ! , Hinnyū wa sutētasu da! Kishō kachi da! ) Comments. This statement then found its way into the linguistic usage of the otaku subculture and was quoted in this regard in episode 10 of the popular anime Lucky Star .
