Chiba TV ( Japanese チ バ テ レ ビ , Chiba Terebi ) is the television broadcaster of the media company Chiba Terebi Hōsō KK ( Japanese 千葉 テ レ ビ 放送 株式会社 Chiba Terebi Hōsō Kabushiki kaisha , short: 千葉 テ レ ビ , English Chiba : Broadcasting Corporation) , CT for short: Broadcasting Corporation Headquarters in the city of Chiba . The transmission area is the Chiba prefecture of the same name , although the surrounding prefectures are also reached.

The station is not affiliated with any of the nationwide networks and is a member of the National Association of Independent Broadcasters ( 全国 独立 UHF 放送 協議 会 , Zenkoku Dokuritsu UHF Hōsō Kyōgikai , JAITS ).

history

The transmitter was founded on January 28, 1970 and began operating on May 1, 1971 via antenna. On February 10, 2006, the broadcast began with the digital terrestrial broadcast of its program. The analogue was discontinued on July 24, 2011. According to its own information, the station currently (as of March 18, 2008) has a capital of 1.7 billion yen .
