content

The manga as well as the anime are about five young people who were sent from the colonies to Earth as part of Operation Meteor to fight against the secret organization OZ with their specially developed "Mobile Suits" (see also Mecha ) and to smash them as she is responsible for the suppression of the colonies.

main characters

Protagonists

Heero Yuy
Heero Yuy , whose name comes from the peace fighter who was killed by a sniper . He is a special pilot who only lives for his mission and risks everything to accomplish it. He is one of the few who can control the zero system . His first Gundam was Gundam Wing, then Epyon, followed by Wing Zero. In Endless Waltz he controls the Wing Zero Custom. He plans to assassinate Relena Peacecraft and others more than once to achieve his goals. Heero Yuy is just his alias, his real name is not mentioned. However, in the course of history, his relationship with Relena, whom he respects due to her strength and willpower, his fellow campaigners and ultimately also his views on the war change.
Duo Maxwell
Duo Maxwell is the pilot of Deathscythe, the sickle-swinging death. He describes himself and his gundam as Shinigami , the angel of death. He was an orphan and found refuge in Maxwell Church. He owes his braid to a nun, which he likes so much. In character he is the complete opposite of Heero Yuy and is initially viewed by him as an enemy. However, that changes in the end and he becomes Heero's only friend.
Quatre Raberba Winner
Quatre Raberba Winner and his forty men, known as the "Maganac Corps". He is rich, charming, makes music, gets tea out of nowhere and always tries to stay peaceful. Before fighting an opponent, he tries to convince him to give up the fight and if he has to kill him, he warns him beforehand and then apologizes. He and Trowa can be seen often. He is the first pilot who got to feel the concentrated power of the Zero System , which he built himself. He lost control and saw everyone as his enemy. In the process, he almost killed Trowa, who lost his memory as a result.
Trowa Barton
Trowa Barton , the Nameless (in Japanese Nanashi). At the age of ten he was already sitting in a mobile suit to fight. Just before Operation Meteor began, the real Trowa was killed. The little boy who cared for and protected Heavyarms took his part and flew to earth. Trowa Barton is a quiet and mysterious boy and manages to infiltrate anything. Trowa works as a clown with a crying mask in a circus and has a perfect sense of balance. Catherine is his adoptive sister and tries to protect him from anyone who wants to fight. So far, nobody has made his jump.
Trowa often travels with Quatre, both of whom play musical instruments (Trowa plays the flute, Quatre violin and piano). Towards the end of the series he suffered from memory loss at times.
Wufei Chang
Wufei Chang is a guy who doesn't recover from defeat anytime soon. He finds it unworthy to fight against the weaker and women.
He wasn't supposed to be the pilot of the Gundam Shenlong, but his wife, whom he called "Nataku". Her real name was Meiran. She died in a cowardly fight, with a Leo against two Aires.
Wufei then feels obliged to continue Operation Meteor for his wife.
Wufei is the rival of Treize Kusheranada, whom he kills in episode 48, falling into chaos . Wufei is an excellent fighter who was easily defeated by Treize in sword fighting. Since then, he has viewed him as a real enemy.
Relena Peacecraft / Relena Darlian
Relena develops over the course of the series from the spoiled but highly educated ministerial daughter to a strong young woman who goes her own way and undauntedly advocates absolute pacifism and thus a more peaceful world. She learns from her father, Earth Deputy Foreign Minister Darlian, early on that he is not her actual father, but that she is the daughter of King Peacecraft von Sank, so Milliardo Peacecraft is her brother. Later she was forced to take over the chairmanship of the Romefeller Foundation and proclaimed the world nation.

Antagonists

Zechs Marquise / Millardo Peacecraft
Milliardo Peacecraft took the name Zechs Marquise and hid his face behind a mask to punish those who destroyed his homeland, the Kingdom of Sanq. He is a respected, extremely talented pilot, a terrific fighter without fear or rebuke, does not stop at anything and enjoys the full trust of Treize, whom he has known since childhood.
Millardo Peacecraft is actually the king of the Kingdom of Sanq, but he refuses to lead it because the blood of many soldiers is on his hands. He fights for his little sister, Relena Peacecraft, to rebuild the pacifist kingdom for her. He swore this to himself and his dead father in the devastated royal palace.
When his mask, which he wears to hide himself from the earth forces that destroyed Sanq, broke in a battle, he left OZ to work as an ambassador for peace in space, under his real name Millardo Peacecraft.
But when the Romefeller Foundation continues to wage war with the help of the Mobile Dolls , he takes the name Zechs Marquise again and fights the Romefeller Foundation with his Tallgeese I.
He later becomes leader of the White Fang, which comes into the possession of the Libra , a huge battleship with a huge ray cannon, which was built by the inventors of the Gundams, with which the White Fang intend to attack the earth if they do not surrender.
Treize Khushrenada
Treize is the charismatic leader of OZ and knows the true identity of Zechs Marquise as he has known him since childhood. He's not easy to see through and in the series sometimes a friend, sometimes an enemy, but always remains honorable.
Treize loves war as it is about the art of survival. When the mobile doll system was introduced at OZ, Treize expressed his disgust and vetoed it. This angered the other senior Romefeller members so much that Treize was labeled a traitor.
Treize is a very good swordsman. He and Wufei fought each other, and he was victorious but left Wufei alive! In the rematch that Wufei demanded, he lost his life. In this fight he used the "old MS-Knight" Tallgeese II as a mobile suit.
Treize wanted people to stand up to their last breath for a cause. He wanted people to fight for a cause out of conviction.
His life goal was finally fulfilled when the people in Endless Waltz "fought" for peace. He left a young daughter, Marimeia Barton Khushrenada.
He left the Epyon to Heero Yuy, which he had developed but was unable to use.
Chief engineer Tsubarov
Tsubarov is the inventor of the mobile doll system, which enables suits to act without a pilot. This resulted in a confrontation with Treize Khushrenada, who categorically rejected this form of war.
Tsubarov also tried to kill Lady Une, who was loyal to Treize, but failed.
In the further course of the series, Tsubarov supervised the mass production of the Virgo I Mobile Dolls in the production facilities on the moon and in the colonies and was later commissioned to construct the battleship Libra. Shortly before completion, however, he was kidnapped by the White Fang . He managed to escape and tried to save himself with the help of his mobile dolls .
Tsubarov was killed when his mobile dolls were destroyed by the newly constructed Gundams.
