Please Save My Earth ( Japanese ぼ く の 地球 を 守 っ て , Boku no Chikyū o Mamotte , short: ぼ く 地球 , Bokutama ) is a manga by the Japanese illustrator Saki Hiwatari . It comprises over 3,700 pages and is aimed at young girls, so it can be assigned to the Shōjo category.

action

The central figure in the story is 16-year-old Alice, who has just moved to Tokyo with her parents and brother and does not feel very comfortable there. She has always been aware of the feelings of plants and animals and can even communicate with them. 7-year-old Rin lives with his family in the neighboring apartment. The two do not get along very well at first and due to some unfortunate circumstances, Rin - through Alice's fault - ends up in the hospital, where he suddenly remembers a previous life when he worked on a moon base under the name Shion . In Alice he recognizes the scientist Mokuren , who is also stationed there - his former love.

As the story progresses, the two meet other companions from their previous life and remember the terrible catastrophe that killed them all.

Mokuren is a biologist, smart, beautiful, level-headed and serene, gentle and faithful. Due to a mutation, she has the supernatural ability, the Surchess Power. With it she can communicate with plants and animals, which often give her the greatest comfort in difficult times. Her parents were both Kichess, who made love illegally and Mokuren, also fathered a Kichess. Jinpachi Ogura / Gyokuran Oantisha
Gyokuran is a Doctor of Archeology and is reasonable and decent. He likes to show off his skills. His reincarnation, Jinpachi, is a schoolmate and Issei's best friend. He is temperamental and intolerant. When he confesses his love to Alice, she rejects him.
Issei Nishikiori / Enju Tofekolohru
Enju is a calm, introverted paleontologist. However, she loves Gyokuran and is broken by Gyokuran's repellent nature. Her reincarnation, Issei, is a handsome boy. He is plagued by his memories of his love for Gyokuran as Enju and is torn in his reincarnation as a man. He fell in love with his best friend Jinpachi.
Sakura Kokushou / Shusuran Lokishianohru
Shusuran is Enju's best friend and also a scientist. Due to personal experience and her great concern for Enju, she is very suspicious of men. Her reincarnation Sakura is a cheerful Yokohama girl. Despite her robust and direct manner, she is a dear girl who develops a loyal friendship with Issei in this life too.
Haruhiko Kasama / Shukaido Remsaine
Shukaido is Mokuren's tea-class buddy and a medical doctor. His incarnation, Haruhiko, is a cardiac boy with psychic abilities who suffers from memories of his previous existence. In Tamura he has a loving support.
Daisuke Dobashi / Hiiragi Okutakusanohru
Hiiragi is responsible for carrying out the tasks on the moon base and has a headstrong character. His reincarnation Daisuke organizes the meetings of the comrades at his home in Kawasaki. Also in this life he is a leader and a practical and rational person.
Tamura
The former boss of a motorcycle gang was adopted by the Matsudaira family along with his younger brother. After his brother's suicide, he leaves the milieu and becomes a decent man, who from then on takes care of Mr. Matsudaira's junior. He's also good friends with Haruhiko.

Publications

In Japan, the manga series was published in individual chapters from 1987 to 1994 in the manga magazine Hana to Yume , in which Marimo Ragawa's Aka-chan to Boku and Suzue Miuchi's Glass no Kamen were published at the same time . The Hakusensha publishing house also summarized these individual chapters in 21 anthologies.

The German edition of the 21 volumes was published by Carlsen Comics from 2002 .

filming

In 1993 the animation studio Production IG filmed part of the story as a six-part anime . The anime was released directly on video as the original video animation . Directed by Kazuo Yamazaki .

In Germany, Anime-Virtual released the six episodes on two DVDs in July 2002 under the title Reinkarnation - Please Save My Earth . In 2004 these two DVDs were also released as a collector's box.
