Staldenried ( Valais German : Schtaaluried ) is a political municipality and a civic community in the Visp district and a parish of the Visp deanery in the German-speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland .
geography
It can be reached by road or by cable car from Stalden . A second section of the cable car goes up to the hamlet of Gspon . Staldenried consists of 20 different hamlets with their own character. Each of the three largest hamlets has taken on an important social function. The church center is located in Zur Kirche , the “secular” center is called Zur Tanne . The tourist center is in Gspon.

Culture and economy
The population is involved in more than thirty different village associations, including shooters, tambours and whistlers, skiers and footballers. The highest soccer field in Europe is located in Gspon.
Viticulture and the breeding of the local black-nosed sheep are economically important .
climate
Staldenried is located in the region with the lowest rainfall in Switzerland. Nowhere in the Alps is the tree line higher than here.
