Yumi Toma

Yumi Tōma ( Japanese 冬 馬 由 美 , Tōma Yumi , civil: Yumi Yoshida ( 吉田 由 美 , Yoshida Yumi ); * December 20, 1966 in Tokyo Prefecture as Yumi Nakagawa ( 中 川 由 美 , Nakagawa Yumi )) is a Japanese voice actress ( Seiyū ) . She works for the Aoni Production agency .

Yumi Tōma is known in Japan for her roles as Urd in Oh! My Goddess , Iyona Kawai in Magical Tarurūto-kun , Yumeko Kimura in Cooking Papa , Gome in Dragon Quest - Dai no Daibōken , Deedlit in Record of Lodoss War and Refill Sage (German Raine Sage) in Tales of Symphonia .

biography

During the eleventh grade, she entered the Aoni Juku to train as a voice actress. She later graduated from Aoni Juku Tokyo 1 as the 6th grade. In 1986 she made her debut in episode 28 of the anime series Dragon Ball . In the same year Saint Seiya ran in which she u. a. Akira spoke and was also mentioned by name for the first time. At the beginning of her career she was often booked for boys speaking roles, such as Gō Shūta in Transformer: Chōjin Masterforce . In 1990 she received her first leading female role in the OVA Record of Lodoss War with Deedlit . The male lead Parn was voiced by Takeshi Kusao , who attended the sixth year of Aoni Juku with her.

From 2000 she worked as a writer and wrote a. a. to Oh! My Goddess , in the anime of which she speaks as Urd, a novel.

Yumi Tōma is married to Tōei producer Tatsuya Yoshida, who was involved in Transformer: Chōjin Masterforce .

Yumi Tōma has a wide vocal range, so that she is also known as a "voice actress with as many vocal colors as the rainbow" ( 七色 の 声 を 持 つ 声優 , Nana-iro no Koe o motsu Seiyū ). She speaks role types from innocent to bossy, sexy to childish and from old women to playful girls. She mainly speaks female roles, but was initially also cast in male roles. In Fushigi Yuugi with Tama and in Ginga Ojōsama Densetsu Yuna with Milky it was also used for cat meowing.

Your voice is also used in the automatic announcement system of the Ōi Racecourse in Shinagawa and, in the past, at the now closed Sanjō Racecourse in Sanjō .
