content

The game revolves around the main character Lloyd, a seemingly stupid but determined young swordsman, and his girlfriend Colette, the hope of a dying world.

When Lloyd overslept most of the class, as he does every morning, a bright light suddenly shines. Professor Sage, the teacher, immediately goes to the nearby temple to see if everything is going well, because the light signals the imminent appearance of the angel Remiel and the beginning of world renewal. As a result, the chosen one Colette Brunel is supposed to go through a long path of suffering in order to become an angel herself in the end and to sacrifice herself to the goddess Martel.

Despite the ban, Lloyd joins the small group along with his best friend Genis Sage, Raine Sage's brother. They want to prevent the impending sacrifice of Colette and still complete the world renewal to save their world Sylvarant from the devastation by the Desians, misanthropic half-elves, and the impending drought.

Game mechanics

The battles are not turn-based, but take place in real time. Either the whole troop can be controlled from the console or the player can take control of a character himself. Depending on how many players there are, up to four people can fight together. The tactic can be reconfigured at will. In addition, each character has many individual special attacks that can be called up in combat by pressing a button.

Characters

  • Lloyd Irving ( ロ イ ド ・ ア ー ヴ ィ ン グ , Roido Āvingu ):
He lost his parents as a toddler and therefore grew up with a dwarf. When he is banished from his village, he decides to accompany Colette on her journey. Due to his special expheres he is very strong, but is therefore persecuted by the Desians.
  • Colette Brunel :
This young girl is Mana's chosen one. As the supposed daughter of an angel, it is her duty to set off on the journey of world renewal and to become an angel herself. Although she is dependent and naive, she has a good heart.
  • Genis Sage (Japanese Genius Sage):
Although he is still a child, he has above-average intelligence. He is Lloyd's best friend and uses magic attacks in combat. Only late after his sister made a confession did the others find out that he and his sister were half-elves. He hates all people who prejudice the half-elves.
  • Raine Sage (Japanese Refill Sage):
Professor Raine is a teacher and archaeologist and just like her little brother Genis, extremely smart. She tries to keep a secret for a long time that she is a half-elf and comes from Tethe'alla. Your healing spells are of great value to the team.
  • Kratos Aurion :
The mysterious mercenary is, as it turns out in the end, Lloyd's father. To protect Lloyd and his friends, he becomes a traitor. After the death of his wife, he lost all courage to face life and returned to his former student Mithos. Before he became an angel, he was human and Yuan's best friend. Until the end of the game he is one of the four Seraphs of Cruxis who ended the "Old War" 4,000 years ago.
  • Sheena Fujibayashi (Japanese Shihna Fujibayashi):
The assassin first tries to kill Colette, Sylvarant's chosen one. However, she fails and soon joins the team. It is through her that Lloyd and the others learn about the parallel world of Tethe'alla for the first time. Sheena fights with guardian cards, and she can also summon elementals if she has previously made a pact with them.
  • Zelos Wilder :
He is the chosen one of Tethe'alla. Originally sent by the Church as an observer of the group, he soon becomes a good friend. Depending on how the player makes his decisions, it can happen that Zelos dies prematurely as a traitor. His skills are identical to those of Kratos, who will take his place in the group in the event of Zelos' death.
  • Presea Combatir :
Although she looks like a child, the silent Presea is actually 28 years old. A cruxis crystal experiment slowed their growth considerably. In a fight, she handles a huge ax, which although it has a high penetration power, is also slow.
  • Regal Bryant :
The wealthy nobleman and chairman of a large company tries to hide his real position and wealth most of the time. After his lover, Presea's younger sister Alicia, became a monster through a failed experiment, he killed her with his own hands. He was then convicted of murder at his own request. Since then he has only fought with his feet.
  • Mithos Yggdrasill :
Because of a misunderstanding of his sister's last wish, Mithos wants to deprive people of their individuality in order to eradicate discrimination. After he is defeated, only one soul is trapped in a Cruxis crystal.
