KK Mag Garden ( Japanese 株式会社 マ ッ グ ガ ー デ ン Kabushiki-gaisha Maggu Gāden , English Mag Garden Corporation ) is a Japanese manga publisher that is also involved in the production of manga adaptations such as animes and real-life films. It was founded in 2001 by Yoshihiro Hosaka with the support of artists who previously worked for Enix . Since 2007 the company belongs after merging with the anime studio Production IG to the group IG Port , which the two animation studio Signal.MD and Wit Studio belong.

history

The publisher was founded on June 5, 2001 by Yoshihiro Hosaka. He was previously an editor at Enix . The company started as an offshoot of Enix. However, when the mother merged with Square in 2003 , the opponents of the merger split from Enix in Mag Garden and some of the artists followed them, whose series was from then on published by Mag Garden. This was followed by disputes over the rights to the manga series. Finally, the series previously published by Enix could only be continued under new titles at Mag Garden.

In 2007 the publisher merged with Studio Production IG and has been part of the IG Port holding company ever since . Mag Garden had worked with Production IG several times on projects spanning manga and anime. Even before the merger, Production IG owned 15% of the shares in Mag Garden, making it the second largest shareholder.
