Eri Kawai
Eri Kawai ( Japanese 河 井 英里 , actually: 河 井 英 理 , Kawai Eri ; born May 8, 1965 in Tokyo Prefecture ; † August 4, 2008 in Chūō (Tokyo) ) was a Japanese singer-songwriter and arranger .
Eri Kawai studied composition at the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music . She sang and composed classical music, pop music and world music .
In 1991, she was the runner-up in the Kitty Records sponsored CSPC Audition. In 1997 AEL Records released her first album Ao ni Sasageru , which was only a mini album with 5 tracks due to time constraints . In 2002 this was reissued by Earthrise Records. In 2001 Universal Music released their first full album Prayer under their project Erie .
When the 2002 Winter Olympics were broadcast , their song Kisuturina ( キ ス ト ゥ リ ナ ) from the album Ao ni Sasageru was used.
Eri Kawai died of liver cancer in 2008 . In December 2008, Kaze no Michi e and Himawari, two albums were released in her memory.
