Cameron Arthur Clarke (born November 6, 1957 in Burbank , California ) is an American voice actor and actor .

Career

Clarke began his acting career on The Hollywood Palace Show and The King Family Show . He appeared with the family on various TV specials until he got his first roles as a voice actor in the animated series The Snorkels and Robotech in the 1980s . Clarke was tutored by veteran voice actor Michael Bell . Clarke is best known for his roles as Kaneda in Akira , as Max Sterling in Robotech in 1985, Rigadon in Around the World with Willy Fog , D'Artagnan in D'Artagnan and the 3 Muske Animals , Leonardo and Rocksteady in Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles . Clarke also gave his voice to many video game characters. For example, he speaks to the male blood elves in World of Warcraft . To date, Clarke has voiced characters in over a hundred games. He also acts as Pavel in the popular PC publication Neverwinter Nights .

Life

Clarke was born in Burbank in 1957 to actor Robert Clarke and singer Alyce King. He is the nephew of guitarist Alvino Rey and pianist Buddy Cole, cousin of actress Tina Cole and writer Chris Conkling. Clarke is openly gay . In 2015 he performed his autobiographical monodrama Stop Me If I Told You This .

Others

Clarke's trademark is the frequent disguise of his voice. His voice can vary from a youthful sound ( Leonardo ) to a deep and calming sound ( Kratos ) and a British accent ( Liquid Snake from Metal Gear ).
