The two swap their video tapes, which is why the criminals are after Jackie. In order to get the tape, Jackie's friend Miki is kidnapped. Jackie tries to free his girlfriend.

Reviews

"This follows' Mr. Nice Guy 'the tried and tested recipe of his star: between breathtaking action, crazy slapstick and perfectly choreographed martial arts fights, it is hardly noticeable that a story only exists rudimentary. In contrast to the BuddyMovie ' Rush Hour ', 'Mr. Nice Guy 'a fast-paced one-man show in which Jackie Chan once again emulates his silent film idols Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd . But when it comes to amusing acrobatics, he shifts up a gear here as usual - which makes the film a real five-course action menu for his fans. Enjoy the meal!"

"An action film based entirely on orgies of destruction, which enables the martial arts star Jackie Chan to perform some extraordinary stunts, but otherwise only reproduces the set pieces of the genre."

Others

  • The film exists in three versions, a Cantonese Hong Kong version, an English Hong Kong version in which Chan does not synchronize himself, and an international version that has dispensed with some more brutal scenes and adds new music. The cut international version of the film has at least 290 deviations from the uncut original version.
  • Most of the film's action takes place in Melbourne, Australia.
  • Jackie Chan broke his nose for the third time while filming.
  • Sammo Hung made a brief cameo as a bicycle courier.
  • Richard Norton , who plays Giancarlo, made his film debut in the Jackie Chan film Powerman 2 .

Awards

  • Taipei Golden Horse Award 1997: Winner of the category "Best Action Choreography" ( Wing Cho )
  • Hong Kong Film Award 1998: Nominated in the category "Best Action Choreography" (Wing Cho)
