Aya Hirano ( jap. 平野綾 , Hirano Aya * 8. October 1987 in Aichi Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese voice actress ( seiyū ) and J-Pop - singer . As Seiyū she was under contract with the Space Craft Group , as a singer with the Lantis label ; in August 2011 she moved to Grick . Aya Hirano is best known for her role as Haruhi Suzumiya in the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Life

In 1998, Aya Hirano joined the Tokyo Child Theatrical Group , a division of the Space Craft Group , and starred in several commercials before she had her first role as Seiyū in the anime series Tenshi no Shippo in 2001. Other roles as Seiyū in animes such as Kiddy Grade , Beyblade or Eyeshield 21 followed . She had her big break as a voice actress in 2006 in the role of Haruhi Suzumiya in the series The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya . Your single Bōken Desho Desho? also contained the opening of the series sung by her and reached number 10 in the Oricon charts.

This was followed by other roles in well-known anime such as NANA or Death Note . At the 2007 Seiyū Awards , she won the award in the Best Newcomer (Female) category for her portrayal of Haruhi Suzumiya. She was also nominated for the same role in the categories of Best Actor (Female) and Best Supporting Actor (Female) . Also at the Tokyo International Anime Fair in 2007 she won the award for best voice actress for the role of Haruhi Suzumiya.
