Anpanman ( Japanese ア ン パ ン マ ン ) is a Japanese comic and cartoon character by Takashi Yanase , who first appeared in picture books at Froebel-kan . This was followed by manga and anime - TV Series Soreike! Anpanman ( そ れ い け! ア ン パ ン マ ン , Eng. "Let's go! Anpanman"). The target group are mainly toddlers up to primary school age.
Anpanman is the most valuable brand figure in Japan in terms of merchandising and other income, ahead of Pokemon , Mickey Mouse and Hello Kitty .
Characters
The majority of characters are related to pastries common in Japan, the others to food in a broader sense.
- Anpanman ( ア ン パ ン マ ン ): The main character has a head made from anpan , a pastry made from yeast dough with a filling made from red bean paste . It comes from the Jam-ojisan oven. He flies across the country fighting the evil, bacillus, and distributing pieces of his head to anyone who is hungry. When his head is eaten, a new one is baked and put in place of the old one. Anpanman's great weakness is everything that makes his head inedible, i.e. mold, water, dirt and the like. If his head is dirty, Anpanman loses his superpowers. As soon as the used head is replaced by a new one, it has a hundredfold power again and can start its special attacks, on-punch and on-kick.
- Jam-ojisan ( ジ ャ ム お じ さ ん , Jamu-ojisan , Eng . "Uncle Jam") is the baker in whose oven Anpanman was born and who bakes him new Anpan heads. He owns the large bakery and the Anpanmango emergency vehicle.
- Batako ( バ タ コ , German for "lively child") is Jam-ojisan's assistant. She helps him bake and sews the coats that Anpanman and other heroes use to fly. She is often in a mess and runs around, from which her name is derived, not from butter as is often assumed.
- Cheese ( チ ー ズ , Chīzu ) is a dog that Anpanman ran into.
- Melonpanna ( メ ロ ン パ ン ナ ) has a head made of melonpan (melon bread). Her super power is to make men she hits in love with.
- Shokupanman ( し ょ く ぱ ん ま ん , Eng . "Toast Bread Man ") is another superhero. His head is a wide slice of white bread. He drives around in his van bringing his toast to customers. He can fly thanks to his coat and helps Anpanman when bacillus needs to be fought.
- Karēpanman ( カ レ ー パ ン マ ン , Eng. "Curry bread man") is the spicy variant of Anpanman. He can fly and fights his opponents by spitting on them with curry.
- Baikinman ( ば い き ん ま ん , Eng . "Bacillus"): An alien from the Bacillus planet , the villain of the series. He always tries to take food away from others, annoy them, or hit Anpanman. Thanks to his engineering skills, he has a UFO with many optional extras. He has little helpers, the "happy molds" ( カ ビ る ん る ん , kabirunrun ), which can rot Anpanman's head. Its weakness is soap: if it is washed, it shrinks.
- Dokin-chan ( ド キ ン ち ゃ ん ), Baikinman's accomplice and in love with Shokupanman.
In total there are now more than 1768 different characters in the Anpanman universe. This has even earned the series an entry in the Guinness Book of Records. Most of the figures symbolize a certain food or ingredient. Of these secondary characters, Baumkuchensan ( バ ー ム ク ー ヘ ン さ ん ) is worth mentioning, who also says a few German words in the Japanese original of the television series. In addition, 21 Anpanman special variants have been shown so far, in which various special ingredients were used when baking the head.
action
The variety of characters is in contrast to the rather uniform plot of all Anpanman episodes: There is a fight between Anpanman and Bazillus, in which Bacillus uses a mean trick to make Anpanman's head unusable. The individual supporting character of the episode notifies Uncle Marmelade under dramatic circumstances, whereupon the latter makes a new head. The new head is thrown onto the bound or clamped body of Anpanman, and the superpowers return. The bacillus is thrown away by a punch and can only call out "Bai Baiking".
Books
The children's book series has been published in Japan by Froebel-kan since 1973 . By September 2006, 50 million books in the series had sold. This was followed by some implementations as a manga, also by Takashi Yanase . The first was Nekketsu fairy tale Kaiketsu Anpanman in 1975/76 . From 1976 to 1982 Anpanman followed in the magazine Gekkan Ichigoehon , which appears like the first manga by Sanrio . From 1990 to 1994 came Tobe! Anpanman as a series in the Yomiuri Shinbun .
Anime television series
Since 1988, Nippon Television Network has been producing an anime television series based on the manga, directed by Akinori Nagaoka and Shunji Ôga. The character design was created by Michishiro Yamada and Minoru Maeda. Since October 3, 1988, over 800 episodes have been broadcast.
The series is broadcast in South Korea under the title Narara Hoppangmaen , Antena 3 aired the series in Spain in 1990. Anpanman aired in Europe on JSTV for some time but was discontinued. According to the Guinness Book of Records , the series holds the record for most characters in an animated series with 1,768 different characters.
