Dirk Meyer (born September 11, 1975 in Munich ) is a German voice actor . He is best known for his distinctive shrill voice. For example, he speaks the characters Butters Stotch ( South Park ), Usopp ( One Piece ) and Philip J. Fry ( Futurama ).

Professional career

The son of the sound cutter Jana Berthold and the businessman Horst Meyer grew up with a biological sister and two half-siblings near Munich. Thanks to his mother's professional connections, Meyer was given the opportunity to audition in a dubbing studio at the age of 11. This was followed by a continuous engagement for the television series ALF , in which Meyer Benji Gregory dubbed the role of Brian Tanner . In 1990 he was cast on Jonathan Brandis as Bastian Balthasar Bux in The Neverending Story II, his first leading role in a movie.
