One Piece Gold is the twelfth animated feature film for the anime series One Piece , which in turn is based on the manga series of the same name by the Mangaka Eiichirō Oda . The film celebrated its world premiere on July 15, 2016 at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi .

The film is set in the New World of the fictional one-piece world. The straw hat gang visits the Gran Tesoro, the largest amusement center in the world. The entertainment venue is made of pure gold. The ruler Gildo Tesoro, who controls Gran Tesoro with his devil's powers - the gold fruit - and leads a strict regiment, aims at Luffy to hand him over to the navy. Luffy and his friends try to stop him and fall.

The voice actors of the anime were obliged to speak their characters in the film. This is the first film in which Zorro is no longer spoken of by Philipp Brammer , who passed away in 2014.
