action

Somewhere in the East Blue you'll find the Straw Hat gang without food. The fault lies with the captain of the crew, Monkey D. Luffy , who ate the entire food supply for a month in just two days. In the middle of the ensuing dispute between the crew, three unknown pirates burst into action and snatch the treasures on the ship. While Luffy is busy eliminating the three troublemakers and their ship, another strange ship appears on the horizon. In the confusion that breaks out as a result of the ship's attack, Luffy and swordsman Zorro are separated from navigator Nami and Usopp.

Zorro and Luffy, together with the boy Tobio, who was held on the ship of the three unknown pirates, can escape to Tobio's grandfather Ganzo's small restaurant ship. There Tobio tells that it is his dream to meet Woonan, a true Robin Hood among the pirates who has settled on an island. These plans do not suit the grandfather, who wants his grandson to be his successor safely on his ship. When the four end up on a deserted island in the meantime, Tobio runs away from his grandfather full of anger in order to finally find Woonan. Luffy and Zorro, who had been tied with steel chains by Ganzo because they couldn't pay the bill for the food they had eaten, cling to the boy's heels to help him make his dream come true.

In the meantime, Nami has hidden on the ship of El Dorago, the captain of the unknown ship, and learns that he has found a map to get to Woonan's island. Once there, El Dorago's pirates meet Usopp, who spontaneously tells us that he is a good friend of Woonan and that he knows where he has hidden his gold treasures so that he will not be killed by the pirates. He leads them to an abandoned palace and when Nami appears out of nowhere and claims that the treasures are buried under this palace, the two see their chance to escape. But El Dorago does not intend to dig under the palace for the treasure, but uses his devil's powers to reduce the building to rubble and ashes.

Luffy and Zorro appear out of nowhere and face El Dorago. But, since the two are still tied up, Luffy's mishap catapults them across the island to a nearby hill. Nami and Usopp use the mess in their favor and also flee.

On the remote hill, Nami frees the two of them from their bonds and the four pirates decide to hike together with Tobio to a distant mountain, where according to a whale statue Woonan's hut should be found. During the ascent they meet Ganzo and learn that he was a very good friend of Woonan in his childhood. Even as a child, Woonan wanted to become a pirate and collect all the gold treasures in the world, much to the chagrin of Ganzo, who at the time set himself the goal of becoming the best cook in the East Blues. During an argument, the two fall off a cliff and Ganzo is seriously injured. Feeling guilty, Woonan left his home island to make his dream come true.

After the history lesson, the pirates, Ganzo and Tobio continue their ascent and find Woonan's hut on the top, as suspected. In it they discover a secret passage that leads into a cellar under the hut. Before they can go down the stairs, however, they are attacked again by El Dorago's pirates, and the building is destroyed.

Luffy now opposes El Dorago with all his strength and manages to catapult him to the other end of the island with the help of his own devil forces. The pirate gang also take their legs in their hands and flee from the invincible rubber man.
After the incident, Luffy and the others go to the vaulted cellar, but find no treasures there, but the last remains of the deceased Woonan and a message in which he apologizes to Ganzo for the argument between the two years ago.
Instead, Nami steals all the gold treasures that can be found on El Dorago's ship, and the straw hat gang sets sail for new adventures, but leaves the promise that they will see Tobio and Ganzo again at some point.
