Pramenáč (German Bornhauberg ) is one of the highest mountains in the Eastern Ore Mountains in the Czech Republic .

Location and surroundings

The mountain rises in the middle of a larger forest area directly on the southern steep drop of the Ore Mountains to the North Bohemian Basin 700 m below . To the south at the foot of the mountains lie the towns of Dubí ( oak forest ), Košťany ( Kosten ) and Hrob ( monastery tomb ). To the northeast on the Ore Mountains ridge is the small village of Cínovec ( Hinterzinnwald ), on the southwestern mountain flank the town of Mikulov v Krušných horách ( Niklasberg ). The Most – Moldava railway line runs along the southern mountain flank .

On the north-eastern shoulder of the mountain, a larger raised bog complex of various types extends to the Georgenfeld raised bog in German territory. On older maps this area is called "The Sea".

geology

Almost the entire massif of the mountain consists of a rhyolite , which in its local form was previously known as Teplitz quartz porphyry . In the summit area of the mountain, this rock is exposed on several cliffs.

view

View to Bouřňák (2005)

Thanks to the currently low forest cover, the summit area offers a comprehensive view in almost all directions. In the south, the view particularly falls on the mountains of the Bohemian Central Uplands with Milešovka ( Milleschauer ) and Kletečná ( Kletschen ). To the west, your gaze wanders over the Ore Mountains ridge. The mountains of the Eastern Ore Mountains, such as Bouřňák ( striker ) and Loučná ( Wieselstein ), are in the field of vision .

Paths to the summit

There are no marked hiking trails leading to the top of the mountain. From the European long-distance hiking trail E3 on the Vitiška ( Wittichbaude ), the summit can be easily reached via a forest road in about 20 minutes. In winter there is a network of cross-country trails on the forest roads that also lead over the summit.
