action
Supporting film
At the final of the great Grandline Football Cup, victory now has to be decided by a penalty shoot-out, in which the young Corby steps in as the goalkeeper. Luffy's first shot goes straight into the goal, while Buggy's opponent's shot misses the clown. This is followed by two shots on goal by Zorro and Okta, while Chopper's attempt to hit the goal causes the ball to burst. Mr. 2, Usopp and Jacko also hit the goal, whereupon the two teams are again tied.
The self-proclaimed top scorer Odachi appears out of nowhere and tries to sink the ball into the goal for Buggy's team, but the ball is easily held by Corby. Now it's up to Sanji to catapult the last ball into the goal, but it literally shoots over the target and flies over the goal.
While Buggy's team is happy that the match is not over yet, a marine reports that a round object flying across the sky has been sighted around the grandline. It is Sanji's shot ball, which finally lands in the goal after circumnavigating the earth, whereupon the straw hats can decide the match for themselves.
It was all just a dream Luffy was just awakening from. However, at the same moment the rubber man sees a soccer ball, takes a powerful kick and hits the ball with full force. But since Luffy is still half dreaming, he does not notice that instead of a soccer ball he had kicked Lysops butt, who is now screaming in pain.
Main film
The straw hat gang is just on the way to the Crown Island, where a great treasure is said to be. While Chopper indicates to the crew that he is too afraid to wander around on an unknown island, the ship is catapulted into the air by an explosion on the ocean floor, which transports them directly to the unknown island. In doing so, Chopper goes overboard and is separated from his friends.
When he comes to, he finds himself surrounded by strange animals and a human boy, who appoint him the new king of the island after their old king, the golden lion, died of old age.
At the same time, the rest of the Straw Hat gang are vigorously looking for their lost ship's doctor and make the acquaintance of Count Butler and his two servants, General Hot Dog and President Heavy. The trio is also on the hunt for the island's treasure and removes the antlers of the island's animals, as the treasure is supposed to be a pair of horns that give the wearer unimaginable strength. When Butler has had enough of the straw hat gang, he pulls out his violin, which he can use to bring certain animals under his control, and orders them to move the five out of the way, whereupon the gang takes flight.
Meanwhile, Chopper takes care of the injured animals on the island and is urged by Mobambi, the only human boy on the island, to stay as king on the island to protect the residents from pirates. Before Chopper rejects him again, they are interrupted by Corbie, a talking bird, and informed that a pack of pirates is on their way to them. Chopper gets ready to fight the pirates at Mobambi's request, but is surprised to find that these are his five friends.
Reunited, Chopper invites his friends to a royal feast, which Mobambi doesn't like at all. But suddenly Count Butler storms the celebration and demands the king of the animals to be handed over or he will kill all animals on the island. Chopper confronts him, but is attacked by the animals under Butler's spell and flees with his friends.
The crew is separated and Chopper is ambushed by Butler. To save Chopper, Mobambi brought the old king's golden horns with him, but loses them to Butler, who eats them completely. Butler mutates into a giant monster with golden horns and is attacked by Luffy, who, it seems, has no chance against the colossus. When Chopper sees his friend being thrown from a mountain by Butler, he overcomes his fear and confronts the monster, but like Luffy has no chance against it.
Suddenly Luffy appears again and through his anger can develop enough strength to break Butler's golden horns and catapult the villain into the sunset with the help of his Gum Gum Bazooka . Mobambi has now understood that Chopper's place is not on the island, but by the side of his pirate friends and ask them to take him with them, because the animals of the island would cast him away because he had stolen the horns of the old king. To his surprise, the animals ask him to stay, appoint him the new king of the island and celebrate a coronation ceremony with the straw hats.
The next morning Luffy and his crew have already set sail and Chopper promises that from now on he will face his enemies with more courage.

Trivia
- The film was shown in cinemas in Japan together with " Digimon Tamers - Bōsō Digimon Tokkyū " at the Tōei Spring Anime Fair 2002 on March 2, 2002 and grossed around 2 billion yen .
- While Vivi appears as the cheerleader of the Straw Hat gang together with Nami in the supporting film, she is nowhere to be seen in the main film. This is particularly noticeable since the film takes place before the Straw Hats arrive in Alabasta, but after their adventures on Drumm Island. Therefore Vivi, who leaves the crew in Alabasta before Nico Robin joins the crew, has to be part of the team.
- Usually, in every movie, Zorro fights an opposing swordsman, while Sanji takes care of an opposing pugilist. In this film, however, it is Zorro who is fighting the pugilist and Sanji who is fighting the swordsman.
- Originally the German DVD was supposed to be released on April 29th 2011, due to production difficulties the release date was postponed to May 13th 2011
