Kai Taschner (born August 25, 1957 in Munich ) is a German actor , voice actor and dialogue director .

Life

The son of the film editor Herbert Taschner and his colleague Ingeborg Taschner was a member of an independent theater group between the ages of 13 and 17. He is a trained graphic designer and received music training at the Munich Jazz School. Taschner did not attend drama school, but through his mother he came into contact with the film world at an early age. He stood in front of the camera for the first time at the age of 15. In 1977 he was seen in the film Zero Hour, directed by Edgar Reitz . The black and white film was restored and republished in 2009.

One of the best-known of his around 600 dubbing roles is the killer’s telephone voice in the horror films of the Scream series and as the voice of Chucky in three of the films. He is better known to younger audiences as the new Pumuckl voice, which is very similar to Clarinian, or as the yellow sailfin doctor Blubbel in Finding Nemo . In the Disney series Bonkers , he dubbed the title role. Occasionally he also directs dubbing, for example for the German-language version of Himmel und Huhn (2005). Taschner also spoke some roles in computer games , such as the quiz master Jack in You Don't Know Jack or "James" Jim "Raynor" from StarCraft . From 2005 to 2013 he was the spokesman for the program information on the feature film channel Das Vierte .

On television he played a number of roles in Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved and in Hidden Camera . He also played the young "Franz Lang" in From a German Life (1977). He also played in the crime series Tatort and the series Forsthaus Falkenau . In the six-part Death of a Schoolboy (1980) he can be seen in the role of the drug addict classmate "Kai Schiblow".

In November 2008 Taschner could be seen on stage in the Pasinger Fabrik in Munich in the live radio play Spring Heeled Jack and in 2013 in the unusual cabaret program Der Klangmull
