Blood and Honor - Youth under Hitler from 1982 is a German TV mini-series that was created as a co-production between SWF ( Südwestfunk ) and Taurus Film, Munich.

The script comes from Helmut Kissel and is based in part on his own experience as a member of the Hitler Youth . Robert Muller worked on the script. Helmut Kissel acted as director of the project, but was replaced by Bernd Fischerauer after a few weeks . The shooting took place in August 1980 in Baden-Baden and then ended between January and March 1981. Each scene was shot in both German and English, resulting in the two versions of the film. Post-production of the German version was completed in spring 1982. The premiere on West German television was in July 1982 and reached a 50% audience share. The American version premiered in November 1982 on various independent television stations in the United States (KBHK-44, WPIX-TV, etc.). Blood and Honor: Youth Under Hitler also received a Peabody Award in 1982 and has been shown in seven countries including the Netherlands , Great Britain , Austria and Israel .

The series was followed by a discussion on Youth under Hitler - Was it really like that? sent.
